(Just as a sort of header, I was wondering this yesterday: how did the people in Asgard react to Loki destroying the mortal world? So I decided to go full-out and write a sort of essay-like story on how an every-day goddess might view the goings-on of the other Nine Worlds. Hope آپ like it!)
I was leaning against the railing as the sun was setting, setting the remains of Bifrost alight with dazzling, glass-like crystal sparkles. It had been a long time since the Bifrost had been shattered, and still Heimdall guarded it - ever loyal to his duties as the Gatekeeper of Asgard.
There was a soft breeze blowing through the trees nearby as I gazed out across the vastness of Asgard, thinking back on all that had happened in the past. Trying to make sense and logic of the events that had taken place semi-recently.
I turned my head to the setting sun and squinted my eyes to see better. The مالٹا, نارنگی and red light from the sun cast its gentle light on my pale face, but I couldn't feel its warmth.
I hadn't been able to get a peaceful sleep since I had seen, from this very balcony, the Bifrost shatter. I had seen everything. Even if I had not heard the words they exchanged before *he* let go - it still scarred me.
What scarred me the most was that I had actually just stood there and had done nothing. I had forgotten my horse, and my powers. I had forgotten everything but my horror and shock at the event.
Trust me, as the goddess of wisdom, I had *never* been one of Loki's سب, سب سے اوپر fans. In fact, most of my memory consists of wishing he would stop playing around and be serious about things for once.
But I had never, *ever* meant for my indifference of him to contribute to his desperation to be accepted. I'm ashamed that I never saw the signs before it got bad - and in that respect I failed my duties as badly as one can.
Knowing that I had failed, and knowing that I could've stopped this from happening... that's what truly set me off of my restful sleep. I had never forgiven myself for that.
After all this time, after all the mourning and grief on everyone's part, Thor constantly reminds me that it wasn't my fault. No, it wasn't. It wasn't my fault because I was too stupid to take action immediately as I normally would have and save the two of them.
In truth I felt as if I was the only one who had blood on my hands for that event. Thor hadn't let go, and neither had Odin. Loki himself had - and I had let him.
As a servant of Frigga, and a *goddess of wisdom,* in the name of the Norns, I should've reacted with logic and foresight. And I didn't. I stood there and watched, and now I was beating myself over the head.
No doubt, secretly, everyone felt this way. Every دن I told myself that every Asgardian I knew felt the same way I did. Maybe they stared out into the city of Asgard from *their* balconies and comprehended all that had happened.
Thor had left again for Midgard a few days پہلے - thanks to Odin. Of course now, Odin was in another Odinsleep, and Frigga was watching over Asgard in his stead.
I was just another goddess. Just another citizen of Asgard. I was a lady-in-waiting to Frigga, providing her with logical and wise solutions to problems and such of the like: but that hardly held a candle to some of the other goddesses, like Freya یا Sif - یا even Iduna.
I had heard rumors of Midgard being attacked سے طرف کی a strange and unheard of force, but I hadn't really thought much about it. Now, however, as I gazed out over the shining sea that Bifrost reflected off of, I wondered and thought about the rumors.
Why else would Thor depart to Midgard so desperately? He had learned from his last visit to Midgard how to respect others and be respected in return, so he must have been truly, pathetically desperate to ask Odin to use magic to transport him to Midgard.
And with good reason.

I straightened, taking a breath and letting it out in a small sigh, tracing my finger along the railing. If it turned out to be Loki who was causing all the damage in Midgard - I wasn't sure how well I could take that.
It would seem مزید like my fault than ever. But, surely, everyone would feel that way. They had to. In silence, my mind wandered through space and time without leaving Asgard - and I assured myself that I wouldn't be alone in the feeling of fault.
No one else, however, would expect it to be Loki. I knew his tricky ways just as well as Frigga herself might: how could I not? The queen told me everything about her sons while I listened and remembered.
If Loki could've found a way to survive, he would've taken it. He wasn't one to let himself down that easily, even if he would give up on one یا two things.
Still, I couldn't be sure.
