Ever wondered if Jason and Percy would hold the same significance in the PJO & HOO series as the same as others, like Theseus, Heracles, Jason یا Perseus did in mythological history?
Well, if history is set about repeating itself, and a lot of the times it does (sometimes fates just get boring and unimaginative, re-using the same stories again), then we're in for a repeat of lives.
Wait, repeat of lives? If you're thinking what I'm thinking, hang on, I'll get to that too.
So first of all, Jason Grace and Jason of the Argonauts. Obvious comparisons include the name, their patron and the ship they (will) commandeer.
Jason and Jason (so, Percy is named after Perseus? Well, whatever, he wasn't as famous as Heracles/Hercules) were the first notions to make the gears in my brain start to roar. Then, the obvious comparisons made سے طرف کی Riordan in the book pushed me to read into it more. However, I soon realised that the unknown background of Jason Grace limits the ability to connect the dots. However, there's one مزید similarity, and that's with the one shoe.
Have I got آپ intrigued? I hope so, as one small portion of the book relates to one tiny story in Jason's early years.
So, the reasons as to why they lost a shoe isn't important. The fact is, they did. Jason Grace at the Grand Canyon and Jason when he went to Iolcus to confront Pelias.
Pelias was the king, and to get there he'd kill all of Jason's ancestors, basically his entire bloodline, but him. Even though he believed he had killed the bloodline, he still consulted an oracle about his future, which told him to look out for the dude with one sandal. Jason was that guy, and Pelias told him he could become King if he retrieved the Golden Fleece. And so goes the story.
However, the story on Jason is still being written, we don't know all, but Percy's story is almost finished. سے طرف کی the way, did we mention that Hercules was one of the Argonauts on Jason's ship? Everyone's hoping Percy would share that same fate for Jason Grace's ship.
Now the only thing in common, would be to kill the Hydra and Nemean Lion, the thing he captured in Last Olympian relates to animals only Hercules captured; Percy would be the only one to capture it and to clean the Augean stables. Percy either directly یا inadvertently replicated all of this, which were all Labors of Hercules. There's around another 5-7 left for him.
Also, where did Hercules gain his amazing strength and skill from? Well, he fed through Hera's breast, and I guess her دودھ had some sort of immortal effect on him, but that gave him the strength and skill over any man. Percy? Took a dip in the Styx. Isn't the exact same, but Percy theoretically has the strength and skills above any usual person from doing so.
So yep, Percy and Jason, sharing similarities to Heracles/Hercules and Jason. But wait, I promised we'd get to the repeating of lives thing, yeah? Yeah. So I'll finish off this سے طرف کی letting آپ decide if Percy and Jason's life, is just a reborn life of Heracles and Jason respectively. To reach the Isles of the Blest, آپ must be born three times, each life reaching Elysium. Hmm? What's that a whole new realm of possibilities? I'll leave that for آپ to ponder.

Prelude- 11:37 P.M. Summer
An eleven سال old girl is being chased سے طرف کی a monster. Up ahead is a farmplace. Little does she know that the farmplace is Camp Half-Blood. Safty, she thought, but not completly! The monster was catching up and was soon right behind her. She stopped. Bad mistake. The monster lunged and clawed her legs. Blood ozzed from the wounds. She tried to run. It lunged again, this time clawing her neck and back. I MUST at least get to those woods, she thought. So she ran to the woods with all her strenght.
Somehow she lost the monster in the woods. It howled and went away, angery it lost its dinner.
"I'm safe," she murmered and passed out.
