I stared blankly at the wall, where am I?
"Percy!? Percy?! Are آپ here?"
I could hear someone calling from somewhere outside of my prison. I could tell from the gruff voice that it had to be a guy. He sounded stressed, as if the person he was looking for would solve all of his problems. Another voice, not his, something a little lighter, daintier, a girl's, said" I don't think he's here Butch, c'mon"
"He has to be! We've looked everywhere, except here."
"There's got to be other places he could be, I don't think they would put him here, it's too close to her"
" Piper, could آپ imagine how hard it's going to be to tell Annabeth that we haven't found him?"
"She'll be devestated, I know."
"There has to be something we're missing in here, I can't stand to watch her cry anymore."
"Annabeth, cry?"
"She does, all the time, but she won't let anyone see."
"Well, how did you?"
"I was walking سے طرف کی the Arena, she was talking with Clarisse. Please help me look." They were silent for what felt like an eternity. I heard them walk سے طرف کی the wall. I wanted to yell, to tell them to help me, but I knew that they had to find who they were looking for. I didn't want them to give up on their friend just for me, that'd be selfish. I bit my tongue, stopping the words from coming out.
They started to knock on the walls, kicking it in some places. The racket seemed to disturb the other person in my cell. He looked to be in his late thirties یا fourties, dark skinned like an indian. His hair was long and dark, shot through with small touches of grey. Deep brown eyes were set deep in his face. Who was he? Who am I?"
"What's going on?" The Man asked me.
"I don't know. There are some people outside looking for someone named Percy. Are آپ Percy?"
"I...I...I don't know. Are آپ Percy?"
"I can't remember my name, I've been trying for the last week."
"How do آپ know how long its been?"
"The light," I pointed to a tiny spot of light just above our heads. It was small but there was just enough to تقسیم, الگ کریں the dark room down the center.
"Oh, do آپ know where we are?"
"Not a clue..." We stopped talking for a while and listened to the banging the people outside were doing. Every once in a while one of them would curse یا ask the other a question. I learned that there were also two other people out there, two guys, Jason and Leo. They talked rarely.
After what I assume was an hour, the banging stopped and Butch spoke up, "Damn it! He has to be here."
"Butch," Jason said, "We'll find him, but we have other matters to attend to." It got quiet, and I heard their footsteps اقدام away from us. I couldn't stop it this time, I couldn't hold it in. I ran to the دیوار in front of me and started banging. I yelled as loud as I could. The Man did the same. The footsteps stopped, "What is that?" Piper asked. I could hear them walking closer now, I kept on banging. The مزید noise I made the easier it would be to get to us.
The people pinpointed where we were and discussed how to get us out. They took turns shouldering the دیوار and hitting it with things, but it wouldn't budge. "What do we do?" Piper asked.
"I don't know," Jason replied.
"Hold on guys, I think I've got it." Leo. This was only the سیکنڈ time I'd heard his voice, but I could distinguish it just as well as the others. What had he got? Did he find the door? Was there a door? I looked around. I couldn't see very well in the dark, but I didn't think that there was a door. How were they going to get us out? The answer came in a تقسیم, الگ کریں second. A kid walked out of the shadows.
"Percy?" He asked.
"Where the hell did آپ come from?"
"You know where."
"Uh.....no...."
"Great, you're just like him."
"Like who?"
"Like Jason, آپ can't remember anything. Annabeth's going to be upset."
"Who's Annabeth?"
"C'mon." He pulled the Man and me through the shadows. Before I knew what had happened we were walking out of a dark corner in a hall. The floor was made of cold smooth tiles of black and gold. There were crystal chandeliers hanging down from the ceiling in a neat evenly spaced row. There were no windows, and there were no doors. It was just a long, seemingly endless, hallway. Standing down the hall and to the right was a group of people who looked around my age. Wait, how old am I? I didn't have time, though, to wonder about my age, because I was suddenly grabbed up into a tight hug.
"Percy! Where have آپ been?"
"Uh, I'm not Percy, I don't think....Do آپ know who I am? Do I know you?"
"Percy? It's me. It's Butch....Percy?"
"I don't know you..."
"Butch, look." Jason said. We all turned to see Piper hugging the Man.
"Daddy! Daddy! I missed you!" she said.
"Get off me!" the Man screamed, "Who the hell are you?"
"Dad!?" Piper jumped back, "It's me! It's your Pippa, Daddy!"
"I...don't...know you....I'm sorry,little girl, but I really don't know you."
Tears began to pour from Piper's eyes.....those eyes, I could remember those eyes....did I know her? No, I don't think I did, I'd remember her. She's so...unique. Jason, and another guy who I could only assume was Leo, wrapped their arms around Piper, and comforted her. The kid who had rescued us stepped out of the shadows again. Over some choked sobs I heard him speak, "Butch, They're Amnesiac. We need to get them to camp, Mr. D might be able to help them."
"Nico, what if they took a swim in the Lethe?"
"I don't think they did. Persephone would've known."
The Man jerked to attention. "Persephone? Did آپ say Persephone?"
"Yeah, what of it?" Nico replied.
"Where's Sephi? I need to see her, I need to hold her! Where's my Sephi?"
"What did آپ call her?"
"Nico," Butch called, "We've gotta' go, we've got company."
I looked up the hall, and sure enough, someone, یا should I say, something was coming. It streached almost دیوار to wall. The first thing I saw when it came into the light was an enormous, bulbous stinger at the tip of it's tail. Let me tell you, I was a little nervous to see a giant scorpian skittering towards us. It was glittering سونا under the chandeliers and there was a giant black leather saddle on it's back. Sitting astride the thing was a scary looking guy. He was big, much bigger than any normal man could be. He had six muscle-bound arms, one protruding from each shoulder and two extending from either side of his ribcage. He wore a battle-worn war ہیلمیٹ and a bronze breast-plate with gory scenes engraveed into it.
My eyes widened and instinctively I reached for my pocket. I pulled out a pen. It looked ordinary but something told me to uncap it. Suddenly I was holding a glimmering blade that I thought was very familiar. Jason and Nico were at my sides; Jason with a golden sword and Nico with one made of some sort of material I didn't recognize. Butch and Leo stood behind the front line. Butch was weilding a large halberd and Leo was armed with a flail in one hand and a discus in the other. After a quick examination I noted that Leo's discus was fitted with a blade.
The beast stopped a few feet in front of us, and it's rider jumped from the saddle. He looked us up and down and, without a word, pulled a gigantic battle axe off of his back and charged us. I ducked under the sharp blades and went for his chest. Unfortunately I had forgotten about the armor. He slapped me away like I was an irritating bug and I got back up only to see Nico climbing the Giant's shoulders and Jason slashing at the monster's arms. Leo and Butch were working on the behemoth's legs. Stumbling back into the battle, I began to jab at the big guy's face. Before I could get a good chop in I heard Piper scream. I jerked my head backwards to see the scorpian pinning her to the دیوار with it's stinger.
I jumped into action, working my way over to her. The بچھو turned on me, breathing flames into my face. I twisted and turned carrying my blade with me. It was like I was dancing a destructive dance with the Great arachnid. My sword swirled around me, leaving a faint blue light in it's wake but only putting chinks in the scorpian's natural body armor. The creature unpinned Piper who went to aid the others. The fiend tryed to stab me, but someone jumped in front of me. It was the Man. He pulled out a large bowie چھری made from the same stuff as Nico's sword. He flipped onto its back, and scaled it's tail. While the thing shot flames all around, and thrashed it's tail wildly, the Man tried to hack off the stinger. I didn't see it happening, and sure enough, the man was thrown to the ground. I wished for help, and all I got was a drippy pipe above my head.
It was مزید than just drippy, it was مزید like a stream of water. I don't know why, but I started to feel stronger, wiser, and مزید energized. Suddenly I knew what I had to do. I jumped up on the beast's head, and waited for it to attack. When it pushed it's stinger towards me I wrapped my arms around it allowing it to drag me through the air. Pulling myself up to straddle the tail, I twisted the stinger until I heard a distinct "pop." Grasping the stinger, I jumped backwards toward the ground, landing on one knee. The beast turned on me, and started forward, flames rolling out of it's mouth like fog on the sea.
Quickly and gingerly, I attached the stinger onto the tip of my sword with a pice of leather that had been ripped from the saddle. As the monstrous scorpian made it's way toward me, I ran and slid under it. I pushed the blade into the thing's upper body and hauled my blade all the way through it as I glided on the tile. It fell to the floor, and after a few سیکنڈ of flailing around it finally relaxed into it's deathly position. I didn't expect it to explode, but it did and I ended up covered in a fine golden powder.
I pulled myself off of the floor in time to see the giant heave one last breathe and disintegrate into the same dust I was enveloped in. There was a collective sigh from the other people, but it soon turned to a gasp. The Man was lying unconcious on the ground with blood and some sort of green ooze seeping out of a wound on his stomach.
"We've got to get him out of here!" Piper cried.
"We will." Nico replied, and then blew on some sort of whistle. The whistle broke apart and out of nowhere a large dog roughly the size of a building came bounding up to my side. It tilted it's huge head to the side and quirked an ear into the air, as if to say "Hey, buddy, is that you?" It's eyes widened as if it knew me and then it started to run it's paddle like tongue over me, covering me in foul-smelling saliva. Dog spit, سونا dust, and bug guts....not my idea of fashionable.
"Mrs. O'Leary. " Nico called to the dog, "Take Piper's dad to Chiron, he needs some ambrosia quick!"
"I'm going, too." Piper کہا and hopped onto the dog's back as Butch hoisted the man up to the spot right in front of her. The dog ran into the shadows and they were gone.
Nico jumped up in front of the group and started walking in the opposite direction than the scorpian had come. "C'mon guys, we've got to get back to camp." We began to follow him, but Butch put a hand on my shoulder, "Are آپ going to forget that, man?" He pointed to the floor where the scorpian had been منٹ earlier. There in the middle of a black tile the golden stinger from the beast layed still spilling green poison from the tip. I picked it up and continued to follow everyone out of the hall.
After an گھنٹہ of walking we finally made it outdoors, and if I had thought that a giant scorpian was amazing, it was nothing compared to what I felt then. Standing in a shaded meadow a little to the left of our exit was a group of horses. They had wings that must have spanned at least six feet. There was a black one who I felt especially drawn toward. I walked up and ran my hand down his flank.
Heya, boss! Where've آپ been? I jumped at the voice in my head. "What the hell?"
Boss, what's the matter with you?
I decided to try talking back the way the voice did, Who are you?
It's me boss! Blackjack! Your favourite pegasus, who آپ feed extra helpings of apples to every دن آپ are at camp. Where have آپ been, it's been awful, Boss! Those Aphrodite girls put bows on me, آپ shoulda' seen me, I looked like a mare! Don't leave again, Boss, please, I don't want to have my tail braided again!
ok, I don't know آپ but, ok.
I looked around to see the other guys jumping onto the other pegasai. I'm guessing that there was an extra for Piper, but she wasn't here so I had to fly alone. I pulled myself up onto Blackjack's back and held fast to his neck. With Nico in the lead the Pegasai took off into the air.
I don't like heights. For some reason being up so high gave me the creeps. I felt like I was in mortal peril. My eyes stayed shut for what seemed like hours, but finally I felt the Pegasus' hooves hit solid ground. I opened my eyes and surveyed my surroundings. We were on a beach, not just any beach, but what seemed like a perfect beach. There were trees all around us and there were pretty girls swimming in the water. They smiled and waved at us. It was strange because where I would've expected red when they blushed I saw a light blue tinge.
"Well, they're happy to see you." Leo کہا as he walked past us, "I'd love to go with آپ guys to the Big House, but I've got to get back to the forge." He dissapeared into the trees. The rest of us walked along a creek until we came to an odd assortment of buildings. There were twelve big ones in the middle and dozens of smaller ones surrounding them. They were each unique and some looked a little out of place. I observed each one as we passed by, there was one that seemed to call to me. It was a low building with seashells around the windows. I could feel my mind trying to recall something as I stared at it.
We kept on walking, and I kept looking around. There was what looked like a temple on a hill, and right in front of us, there was a large farm house. Turns out we were headed for the house. Butch dragged me up the stairs where we found two men playing a card game on the porch. One of them was a big man dressed in a tiger print hawaiian style shirt, and the other was, and I truly mean this, a centaur. His bottom part, the horse part, was relaxed on the porch. Both men had a diet Pepsi sitting on the میز, جدول in front of them.
"Chiron, Mr. D," Jason said, "We found him." The centaur looked up at me and a genuine smile crossed his face.
"It's nice to see آپ again."
"Uhm, again? Does that mean آپ know who I am? Could آپ please tell me?"
The centaur looked over to the other man, "It seems we have a problem Mr. D."
"So it does, Chiron." کہا the bigger guy "Can we get back to the cards."
Before Chiron could say another word, a girl with bright red hair burst out of the house, "Percy! You're back! This is so wonderful!" She tried to throw her arms around me, but I stepped back. "Oh, no!" She said, "Not another one!"
"Not another what?" I asked.
"Another person who has forgotten everything."
"I didn't forget everything! I just don't know آپ people."
"Yes آپ do, Percy." Another girl's voice whispered in my ear. I turned to see the most beautiful girl in the world. She had bright golden curls hanging on her shoulder in a ٹٹو tail tied at the side. Her eyes were as grey as clouds right before a storm, and her smile was lovelier than a sunrise. I felt something stirring deep inside of me, an emotion so strong that it felt like I'd been hit in the gut. Then, slowly, one سے طرف کی one, memories started to flow back to me. I remembered blue food and my mother's face. I remembered walks on the ساحل سمندر, بیچ and my Dad. I could see my دوستوں and my enemies. I could recall the horrible events of the سیکنڈ War. The last memory to come back to me was her. Her smile; Her brains; Her pride; Her love. "Annabeth!" I whispered, and wrapped my arms around her, holding her close. I smelled her hair and kissed her cheek. I pulled her closer, and she started crying into my shoulder. "I'm so sorry!" I whispered.
She cryed harder, "I missed you!"
"I know, I know, I'm sorry." She pulled away just far enough to look at me. Even with the tears and the puffy eyes, she was beautiful. I stared into her eyes and slowly we moved closer. My eyes blinked shut and our lips touched, and, if only for a moment, I knew what true bliss felt like. I'm so glad to be home.
I stared blankly at the wall, where am I?
"Percy!? Percy?! Are آپ here?"
