Adia's POV

"Adia Walter," my دل stopped. Surely there is another Adia Walter here?
“Oh my God, congratulations.” I felt two arms give a hug. I looked around and everyone was smiling at me.

Snap out of it1 fake it! I told myself.
“At least we know who is going to win this year,” I smiled at زیتون and made my way towards the stage,

“So آپ must be Adia.” My escort asked.
“Yes I am.” I looked around and I saw my family pretending to look happy but I saw in there eyes how upset they were.

“ Oh I wasn’t, just shocked that I actually got chosen. I am so so happy!”

“do we have any volunteers?” Our escort asked the crowd. This has to be the first سال no one has volunteered, it would be my luck.
“no one? Ok then shake hands.” I’m then shaking Kendens hand and having my last glance of ہوم before being ushered into our justice building.

It was a nice building, perfectly structured, everything clean but I couldn’t imagine living here. Its too clean and doesn’t look lived in. the peacekeeper showed me to a room. All the rooms were painted white and nothing seemed right here. I don’t want to say goodbye to my family here but I guess I have no choice.

“Oh sweetie, I’m so sorry!” my mother’s arms were around me before I had time to react.
“What am I going to do? I wanted to cry but I’m from a career district and it would defiantly make me look weak.
“Join the careers and from them. Make sure آپ turn up to training everyday, learn everyone’s strengths and weaknesses.” My father told me.

“Ok but what if that isn’t enough?”
“Don’t think like that. آپ can do it. They have been training آپ at school, haven’t they?”
“Yes and I have been paying attention but I’m nowhere near as good as everyone else!” I could feel the tears in my eyes wanting to flood out!
“Don’t believe that. Just try for us Ok? My mother asked me

“Good, Evan come here sweetie.” My two سال old brother then crawled into my arms.

“Uh huh” I kissed him and gave my brother a giant hug and handed him back to my parents.

“Times up.” The peacekeeper ushered my parents out of the room.
“I LOVE YOU” I shouted to them. I heard a fain “I love آپ too” then followed سے طرف کی Evan crying. That was it, probably the last time I would see my family.

A few منٹ later I heard the door open again and see my best friend standing in the doorway with a huge grin on her face. Here I go, being fake Adia again.

“Whoa Olive, slow down! She talks way to fast.
“Oh sorry, I’m just excited that’s all.”
“That’s fine but do آپ honestly think I could win?”
“Of course, if آپ شامل میں the careers and learn there weaknesses آپ will do great. Just don’t let them know yours.” Guess I’m going to have to go with that. Who know, I may come put as a victor.

“And why would I do that?” I joked with Olive. She could be a victor; she has the personality of one! Her piecing مرکت, ایمرلڈ eyes and long golden hair which she always has up. Plus she is a lot better than me at all the different techniques we get taught.

“You wouldn’t” all of a sudden Olive’s arms were around me and I looked into her eyes. “You wouldn’t because آپ don’t want me to lose a best friend.” I saw tears in her eyes and she must have seen the same in mine.

We stood hugging each other for the rest of our time.
“Time up” I didn’t want to let go of my best friend but I had to.
“Win!!”
“I will, don’t let Evan know though, Ok?”
“Of course” and with that, زیتون was gone.

I stared out of the window until I had to leave. I was then ushered onto a train that was going to the Capitol. It’s going to take us five hours to get to the capitol. Five hours of practicing being fake!
