Vampire Diaries Season 6 Spoilers: Will Enzo Go After Caroline? 

Caroline Forbes (Candice Accola) and Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) to work things out all season on The Vampire Diaries. In the midseason finale, it seemed like these two might have finally started down a shipping path, as Stefan comforted his bestie in the wake of the news about Liz Forbes’ terminal illness, but could it be another storyline that brings these two together? We’re talking about Enzo’s plan to destory all of Stefan’s happiness. Here’s what TVD showrunner Caroline Dries had to say about it.

“I can tease that [Enzo] needs to employ Matt to get what he wants,” Caroline teased. “And he\'s going to come at Stefan from an unexpected angle. And, ultimately, he and Matt are going to have an interesting relationship. And it\'s going to reveal a couple extra layers of Stefan we haven\'t seen before.”

The phrases “unexpected angle” and “extra layers of Stefan” jump out at us. First of all, no one would expect Enzo to go after Caroline given that the two are basically friends and everyone loves Caroline. Second of all, we think those “extra layers” could be Stefan’s hidden romantic feelings for Caroline — so hidden that even Stefan himself has yet to discover them. Basically, things are about to get serious with this ship, and we are so on board. We’re just hoping Matt doesn’t become collateral damage in the exploration of Steroline. We’re already losing Sheriff Forbes. We can’t take much more.
