In Mystic Falls time they've been together for some months now, and a bit more than a year ago Tyler was being a douche. Just when I think Tyler wouldn't dare to cheat on Caroline when he was breaking every bone in his body to be free FOR Caroline, my mind says that Tyler and Caroline have been together, a solid couple, for some months and we know how men are (cheating bastards...). Maybe Tyler didn't resist the temptation? I don't know... But, like... there ARE A LOT of men who are in love with a woman, and really mean it, but then they cheat. Out of nowhere, poof. I personally won't believe he cheated on Caroline until I see PROOF, until they admit it. It would totally break my heart if he really DID cheat on Caroline, I can't describe how I felt when Tyler looked at Klaus almost admitting it... He didn't say "No of course I didn't cheat on Caroline, I love her." He didn't say anything. But Klaus' face said everything about how much he cares about Caroline. He looked pissed that Tyler hurt Caroline. Also, I don't think that the writer's decided to make Tyler cheat just so Klaroline could happen, I think it doesn't matter because they could make anyone cheat. I wouldn't be surprised if he actually cheated on her. Many men do, even if they trully & deeply love another woman. That's sad, but true - Tyler is a hot guy, who not long ago wasn't really able to create a deeper relationship, we saw he needs tons of sex, plus he's a werewolf, so his needs/instincts are stronger than normal man's.
