However, I don't think he so hopelessly in love with her as he was in season 1. I think he respects her and loves her as a friend. I hope he finds some happiness because his storyline is really sad. He was with Caroline and that was ended shortly so she could be with Tyler. He was getting close to Rebekah, but now she's sort of with Stefan and there is the fact that Matt was being used as a pawn. Anyway, yes, Matt still loves Elena.

A little, yeah. I guess Matt loves her more like a sister than romantically, but that doesn't mean he doesn't love her romantically. And he seriously needs a girlfriend.

I think he is in love with her as a friend. They have always been friends I don't see why he would just stop loving her. Matt does need a girlfriend or at least more of his own story line. He is just kinda there.
