Ryan Gosling, Nina Dobrev, Alexander Ludwig & Malin Akerman! Canadians Take Over At SXSW
The SXSW Festival gets bigger every year and with more films come more stars.  Rick Campanelli shared a bevy of moments with some of Canada\'s biggest stars - Ryan Gosling, Nina Dobrev, Alexander Ludwig and Malin Akerman to name a few before their new films hit the big screen.
Nina Dobrev, Alexander Ludwig, and Malin Akerman hit the red carpet in Austin, Texas to finally share their new film "The Final Girls", appropriately opening the festival on Friday the 13th, with an audience.
"I feel like that was part of it, like the marketing, Friday the 13th," said Dobrev. "It\'s a horror-ish movie, but it\'s also a comedy in many ways, so it\'s ideal, it\'s perfect."
Co-star Alexander Ludwig couldn\'t agree more.
"I\'m really excited to see what a live audience will do with this film," Ludwig continues. "I brought my younger brother who\'s always the best eyes to have on a screen because he will tell me right away \'Alexander, that sucked or it\'s good\' and he already saw it and like it so I brought him again and I\'m excited to see what everyone says."  Watch more of Rick\'s interview with Alexander below!
"It\'s amazing, it\'s scary as s**t!" Malin Akerman says of the film\'s premiere coinciding with the superstitious day.  "It\'s such a fun horror comedy and it\'s the perfect night for it."
Speaking of horror films and since they\'re experts after having starred in a "horror-ish" film, the cast shared their favourite slasher film choices.
"I am NOT a horror film person," Malin exclaims. "I can\'t even sleep if I...yea, I have issues with that. \'Thriller\' is like the furthest I\'ll go."  Now, if you\'re thinking the Michael Jackson music video, you\'d be wrong. The actress explains to Rick that "the Blair Witch project did me in forever."
Alexander kept his choice in the family, telling Rick his favourite film is "\'Friday the 13th, Part 8\' because my mother was in it."
Meanwhile, "The Vampire Diaries" star Nina Dobrev had the smartest answer, not wanting to "bite the hand that feeds her" saying "the creator of \'The Vampire Diaries, Kevin Williamson, created \'Scream\' and \'I Know What You Did Last Summer\' and \'Teaching Mrs. Tingle\', so I would say \'Scream\' is my \'80s horror flick."
Another film featuring both a little horror and a Canadian is "Lost River".  Rick caught up with friend Ryan Gosling on the red carpet right before the actor made his directorial debut!
"This has been 3 years now since I started the process," Ryan tells Rick about stepping behind the camera. "Just to get to spend so much time with something, you know, when you act it\'s more like a fling or something ...so it feels a little unresolved or unexplored so ...this was nice to get to spend so much time."
"I wanted to work with my friends," the actor shares. "I wanted to work in a small kind of intimate way.
