Step Up To The Plate: 4 Characters In \'The Walking Dead\' That Have A Real Chance Of Meeting Negan And Lucille
WARNING: Spoilers ahead for 'The Walking Dead' comic series
The season finale of The Walking Dead is fast approaching, and by now it seems like all signs are pointing to Negan. With
sly references to the villain being dropped in dialogue and Rick and the gang now learning who he is, it's really only a matter of time until he graces our screens with his presence.
With the last episode of the show closely mirroring Issues 95 and 96 of the comic series, it seems like we're on the fast track to seeing the events of Issue 100 unfold very soon. So what exactly happens in Issue 100? That death scene featuring Negan, his wire-covered baseball bat named Lucille, and Glenn. Ouch.
But despite it being Glenn who met his end in the comics, that doesn't necessarily mean that's what will happen in the TV series. So without further ado, here are the top four possibilities for who will most likely end up as Negan's victim.
I know, I know — if Daryl dies, we riot! But could this audience connection to Daryl make him the most shocking choice to face off against Lucille?
We've been predicting Daryl's going to be the one to meet Lucille for more than a year now, and I gotta say there's definitely evidence to support this theory. Firstly, over the course of Season 6, Daryl has begun to take a back seat as a character. Instead of Daryl taking charge as much as we've seen before, other characters such as Michonne, Sasha, Abraham and Carol have swooped in and done it instead. This was also because for most of the first half of the season Daryl wasn't even on screen! Instead, he was on his mission leading zombies away from Alexandria and also being held captive by Dwight.
Another reason Daryl's days could be numbered is simply because he's not a comic book character and therefore he has no comic storyline that could give an indication of when he might or might not die. Basically Daryl could be killed at anytime, or he could also take someone else's place at any time (I'm looking at you, Glenn).
In addition to all of this, the actor who plays Daryl, Norman Reedus, has recently been signed by AMC to appear in his own TV series
Ride With Norman Reedus, as well as appearing in more and more films. So perhaps Reedus has outgrown the TV series and this is his out.
There's no doubt that most people wholeheartedly believe that it will be Glenn who ends up meeting his end at the hands of Negan. After all, that's what happens in the comic books, and so far Season 6 has been pretty faithful to the comic books.
Aside from the fact that Glenn is the one who Negan kills in the comic, there have also been many clues in the show pointing to the fact that this will probably happen in the series as well — including Glenn holding a baseball bat way back in Season 5, Episode 9. While these could possibly be red herrings, there's also just the straight-up possibility that the show will go exactly where it looks like it's going.
As bad as it would be to lose one of the most ruthless characters on the show, I definitely think that it's a strong possibility that Carol will end up as Negan's victim.
She's had a huge journey over the course of the series, from battered housewife to gun-toting ass-kicker. Most recently she has had to confront a lot about herself thanks to Morgan, including her actions that led to her shooting the Alpha Wolf who had just began to make amends for his earlier behavior. In Episode 12 it seems as though the gang is shaping up for an attack on Negan. But if Carol goes with them, will she be able to function in her typically ruthless manor, or has this knock to her confidence turned her into the perfect candidate for Negan and Lucille to prey on? After all, her comic book counterpart is long dead. Is the TV series version of Carol destined for the same fate?
Abraham has had a whole lot of character development throughout Season 6 and if there's one thing that means in this show, it's death. But character development isn't the only reason that I think Abraham is a possibility to be Negan's victim — there's also the fact that in the comic series he dies at the hands of the Saviors.
Abraham is killed in Issue 98 of the comic series after he's shot through the head with an arrow by Savior Dwight. Now it's entirely possible that this exact storyline will play out in the TV series — after all, we know that a character named Dwight now has a crossbow thanks to pilfering it from Daryl back in Episode 6. But it's also possible they'll gloss over this death in order to kill Abraham in a more spectacular fashion in the season finale.

Nobody wants to think about the possibility of a dead baby, but Negan killing Judith would definitely be one hell of a shock. We already know that Negan doesn't hesitate to kill the young after Jesus told Rick about the death of 16-year-old Rory, so could this villain turn on an innocent baby next?
Lauren Cohan (Maggie) and Andrew Lincoln (Rick) have also mentioned that the season finale made them feel ill, and this is one death that would definitely evoke that type of reaction.
