EW exclusively revealed the first official season 8 photo featuring Norman Reedus’ Daryl and Melissa McBride’s Carol readying for battle as well as another exclusive photo of an armed Andrew Lincoln and Lauren Cohan.

The show experienced real-life tragedy last week when stuntman John Bernecker died after falling more than 20 feet and hitting concrete. Showrunner Scott M. Gimple and AMC both released statements about the “tragic loss,” and now it remains to be seen how the accident will be addressed at the show’s upcoming Comic-Con panel on Friday, July 21 in San Diego.
