I think the divorce rates shows that first loves don't last, and many of those couples aren't even first loves. I think it's a little immature to say that you're first love will last forever, most of the time your a teenager then and you really don't think beyond two weeks or so. People change and grow apart as they get older, they become different. Who you are at fifteen, who you connect with best at fifteen, is probably not going to be the same as 25. It is very rare that first loves last forever.

Also, first love is different. With your first love everything is new, it seems bigger than it actually is, more passionate and the feeling of forever, because it is new and exciting, but it is also an immature feeling. As you mature, it might not seem as passionate, but that doesn't make it any less real or strong.

I'm not really someone that believes in "True Love". Love is love, and it's a very personal experience that you can't really describe or compare. And my definition of a "soul mate" can just as easily be applied to friends and family as it can to a lover. To me a "soul mate" is simply someone that you love, that you understand and understands you in return, and that you want to know on some level for the rest of your life.

So I do believe that a second love, or third love, or as far up as someone needs to go, can be just as powerful as your first love, although no love will ever be exactly the same.

i don't believe in soul mates which is why i don't ship leyton, ryan and marissa, bangel, ect they have this whole love at first sight thing going on which i don't believe in either

i normally prefer the relationships that i have seen grow and change, monica and chandler being a perfect example of this or seth and summer, we get to see them grow closer and go through the arguments and well they'll like realistic couples

i only go in for "one true love", "souls mates" and "love at first sight" if i'm watching disney

like first ryan/marissa were soulmates but then she died & its kinda like taylor/ryan are meant to be. they`re both ADORABLE, in different ways .
but other than that ONE, ONLY ONEEEE!
this is why lucas from OTH bothers me SO much! that guy at first was like wow i`ve always been in love w. peyton & he was dating brooke cuz peyton turned him down & then when peyton said she liked him too he dumped brooke but then in the 2nd season peyton is perfectly single & now he decides his new soulmate is brooke. W.T.F. okie doke though so i let it go & just go w. the flow but then in s4 he has a moment where hes like "WOOPS, PEYTON WAS MY ONLY SOULMATE ALL ALONG"! so i let it go again its like aww hes young, he was just in denial. but then peyton says no to his proposal & he has a new soulmate named lindsay. & hes a grown man now so i can`t excuse him. & its not like hes just DATING new people he actually talks to them like "YOU ARE MY SOULMATE, MY ONLY ONE" ugh just wanna strangle him sometimes!

I don't really think the picks go with the question because someone's first love might not necessarily be their true love or soulmate. I think most people have to go through a couple of relationships before they find their soulmate so that's why I chose the second option. :)

Usually the first doesn't last for long in TV. & let's be honest. The first love tends to be boring but the 2nd is the best!!
