I was wondering, in the film Twilight, how did Bella make the connection between Waylons dead body and Edward?

Carlisle gave Edward a pretty obvious "look" when he says animal attack outside the police station, wouldnt she have picked up on that? And then when she's in the ڈنر, کھانے with Charlie doesnt he tell the waitress that they found a human footprint. So she is suspicious of a creature with human features.. and then when she realised what Edward is, and hears that his family is good, it must be other vampires.
