Chapter 9: The Others

I Felt the sun fall hot on my face as the monday morning sun glowed on my skin. I looked at my clock it had read that it was only 6. That's still enough time to head to school.. Surely alex wouldn't be there and if so how far would he really go to restrain me in public? I smiled for a moment. Convicing myself to go to school? Wow. I must've really hit my head. Although i did start to like school, it was one of the only places i could feel normal. I got ready, grabbed my backpack and left my room hoping my parents wouldn't protest my going. I tried to rush my way through the living room towards the door, but was there really any chance of me being faster then a vampire?

My father cleard his throat; "Renesmee?" Isighed but turned around.

"I know carlisle کہا that i should stay in بستر , but really what harm could a couple days at school do?"

My mother spoke "Renesmee, what if alex is there?"

I bit my lip, i honestly didn't plan for that. He surely couldn't do much and public, not without revealing himself. I would just make sure not to isolate myself from the others.

"If alex is there then i'll be sure to stay with others.."

"Do آپ think Jacob would approve of this?" She questioned

I smiled "Jacob's not my parents" i pointed out

My mother sighed, then my father smiled "She's right bella, آپ can go renesmee. But please call if anything happens"

"Really, your actualy okay with this?"
"..Not peticularily" He started "But your might want to leave before i change my mind, would آپ like a drive?"

"I'd rather walk"

"I'd rather آپ didn't..."

"It's not that far and ill be sure to stay سے طرف کی the roads" I promised as i walked out the door.

"Wait!" I heard my mother call, i turned back and listened;

"You fell down while rock climbing.."

"What?" I asked perplexed

"The public story; آپ fell down rock climbing"
"Oh.." I looked at my injuries , was i really in that rough of shape? "okay". I waved goodbye and made my way down the driveway.

I started walking one foot infront of the other. I began to doubt my assurence of alex not
attending today. Had he even noticed i was missing? Surely he must have. I looked foward down the long path, hoping that my school دن would start soon. I decided to take a longer way today possibly to insure my safety یا just to stall myself. But i knew each step i took a began to regret my decision more, and more.

I walked into the front foyer of my school and made my way to the office,

"Oh Renesmee!" کہا the frantic receptionist, "I'm sorry to hear about your accident! How are آپ holding up?"

Theese stories really do spread around fast.. "I'm doing quite fine actualy, thank-you"

I scurried over to my locker to quickly grab my کتابیں for the current subject, where were they? "Biology, biology, biology" I hummed quitly to myself while looking for my کتابیں "Ah! here they are!" I closed up my locker and swiftly made my way into the room.

As i stepped in to hand my attendence slip to the professer i saw something سے طرف کی the lockers. Someone. I froze in my place as the teacher slid the slip out of my sprained hand. I carefully laid the کتابیں on my ڈیسک and tried not to make eye contact with passer byers. People must've thought i was the worst rock climber ever with the injuries i had..

"..Now if everyone can turn the page to 112 we will learn about carbon dioxcide and it-..."

The voices hummed in the backround. I couldn't keep my thoughts focused. The man who had attempted (And almost suceeded) to kill me was less then 10 feet away from this very room. Gravity held me down, i suddenly felt heavy. I regreted every last minute, but i would not let alex win. But i couldn't do anything stupid either, so i guess the best way to make him lose is to دکھائیں him that im alive. I felt a tap on my back , i turned around and my gaze met with morgan's.

I suddenly felt a bit مزید at ease; a familiar face. She started to scribbled words on a scrap peice of paper, in which we exchanged notes:

"Where were you?!"

"Well.. i went out rock climbing in Washington" I erased washington and corrected it with "Idaho and had a little fall..."

"A LITTLE?"

I looked at her and shrugged, she smiled and then turned back to her work. Moments after i heard the loud purr of the گھنٹی, بیل ring. I contemplated leaving but decided not to, i collected my کتابیں and made my way down the hall i saw kalvin spot me. He made his way across.

"Hey renesmee!" He hugged me "Where hav'ya been?"

"Rock climbing"

He gave me a one over and the laughed "Looks like آپ didn't do much climbing as آپ did falling.."

I smiled, "Im sort of accident prone.."

Then i saw the figure over kalvins shoulder, the figure i dreaded. alex.

"Hey kalvin, why don't we go to the cafeteria?" I کہا trying to make my sweet escape, and it worked. We quickly shuffled our way through and sat at the back near a crowded area.

"Renesmee, is everything okay? آپ seem like your avoiding some-"

"Umm, alex isn't too happy with me. I mean we kind of got in a fight the other day.."

"Oh i understand. Listen if آپ need me to talk to him.."

I smiled "That won't be neccacery.. but thanks!"

Anyways, if kalvin knew what i knew i don't think he would enjoy a "talk" with alex.Avoiding became harder and harder as the دن progressed. But somhow i made it through. I heard the last گھنٹی, بیل chime throughout the school and suddenly the feel of saftey ran through me. I walked out to the parking lot not a منٹ after that i got a call from Jacob:

"Hey jake!"

"Nessie! are آپ crazy!? Why are آپ at school? he could دکھائیں up any moment and-"

"Jacob, he is at school. I think he want's to talk.. i should go"

"Wait! I'll be there in one minute"

I hung up the phone and met alex's gaze as he strided towards me in the parking lot.

"Hi alex." I greeted coldly

"Renesmee, I dont know how آپ did it, how your still alive" He started angrily "But i'm planning on fixing that"

I fixed my eyes onto his "Even with all theese people here?" I asked . I mean i never thought he would attempt somthing like that in public but..

"If i were آپ i wouldn't be so sure of myself" He threw my up against the nearest wall. "You think im scared they'll see? It's not that hard to pick up and leave!" He hissed.

I noticed people starting to gather around. Voices were shouting at alex, but one stood out. I saw Jacob running towards us , pushing through the crowd. I saw his arm quickly throw alex away from me;

"Nessie!" I heard his urgent voice break through the others. He quickly lifted me up to shield me from alex once again. He slipped me behind him protectively and turned to face alex.

"WHAT THE HELL WERE آپ THINKING?" He took a step towards Alex. I looked around. The crowd was filled with confusion, anger, worry and intrigue. Intrigue was what worried me the most, everyone was hoping for a fight. Especially Jacob and Alex.

"GET OUT OF HERE, LET ME DO MY JOB, MONGREL."alex shoved jacob.

"OVER MY DEAD BODY" Jacob hissed back, i saw Jacob was ready. No he wouldn't phase here, they couldn't. I had to stop him. Just then i heard Mr.Macey's voice break through the crowd;

"Okay, okay now whats going on here?" He looked dissaprovingly at the two, "Is there a problem?" He asked rasing his eyebrows.

I took a step towards Jacob and lightly pulled his arm; "Jacob let's just get out of here" I whispered. But him and alex stilled stared at eachother, with bloodthirsty eyes. I turned to Mr. Macey;

"There is no problem here sir, Just a little.." I looked at alex "Inconvience, we'll be on our way.. it won't happen again."

He nodded and i lightly tugged Jacob, he soon broke the gaze and followed with one arm around my waist. Breaking through the crowd, we got in the car he was still silent; filled with anger.

"Jacob?" I asked lightly, i couldn't be mad at him not now. He stayed staring forward,

"I could've killed him. Right there." He turned to me "Did he hurt you.. again?" I looked at him then back down.

"No, no. I'm fine." He started to drive, back home? No he was bringing me straight to La Push. I lowered my voice a bit, "Jacob, back there.. آپ weren't actualy even thinking of phas-" I let my voice break off. Jacob stayed staring straight, unmoving like a rock.

"Renesmee, if i thought that it would protect آپ , then yes".

It suddenly worried me. Jacob was putting himself in danger, Putting everyone at risk for me. I couldn't allow that anymore, i had to stop it. I wasn't quite sure how i was going to but i was.

We stopped at La Push, i left my backpack in the car and walked out with jacob. He held my hand as we approched his house;
He took a breath and turned to me.

"Renesmee, i do this. I do this to keep آپ safe. Remember آپ are my world"

I nodded "I understand Jacob, i do. آپ mean everything to me. But i don't need آپ doing stupid things.. I can't lose you. I can't live with out you." He kissed the سب, سب سے اوپر of my head

"You'll never have to" He reassured me. As we walked in the house i noticed billy was there, Jacob's expression was still rock though he was still angry. He looked at billy and nodded;
"I'm going to call your parents, so they know your safe" He left the room, i sat down beside billy;

"Hey Billy!" I exclaimed "Havn't seen آپ around!"

"It was hard for them, to grasp it"

"Hmm,well at least they know what thier doing now.."

" the stills tribe was very confus-"

I felt my دل drop and my pulse lower. I suddenly couldn't breath;The stills tribe? The name echoed in my head as if someone yelled into a dark hollow cave. Stills. It repeated again.Alex Stills. My mind was in a million places. I heard Jacob walk in;

"The what tribe?" He asked wairly, just as worried.

"Stills.." Billy کہا wairly "Is somthing wrong?"

"What did آپ tell them?" He spat through his teeth.

I felt Billy eye Jacob, as if monitering him. "Jacob, what's going on?" He asked in a bit of an angry tone.

"What did آپ tell them?" He repeated, this time Jacob was already beside me, holding my hand.

"I told them what i told آپ guys. As much of thier tribe history as i knew and about the Cullens and-".
Jacob stood up abruptly. "YOU TOLD THEM ABOUT THE CULLENS?"

"Jacob, please." I whispered. I didn't like him speaking to Billy that way.

"Thier not going to say anything, the cullens are in no.." He looked at my cuts " other danger. We can use them to help us with the other tribe"

Jacob fixed his eyes on my injuries " Didn't sam tell آپ about the Stills? they are the other tribe."
