Seth and I haven’t talked since our kiss.
    I really didn’t mean for it to be a big deal. I just thought it’d keep him satisfied for a while, since my thirst had overtaken my attraction for him at the time. However, he’s managed to stay as far away from me as possible. Unfortunately for him, that means he just stays outside of the house in his بھیڑیا form. It astonishes me that neither he nor Jacob ever leaves the Cullen residence. I’m fully aware that imprinting is like a love at first sight with a disturbing, werewolf-y twist on it so that your entire life is dependent on the person you’ve imprinted on, but I still can’t believe that they’d rather spend all of their time around vampires, their sworn enemies, than go ہوم and be with their families. Just because of one girl. In a way it depresses me. I couldn’t imagine having my whole live centered on one person.
    I do wish Seth would come and talk to me though.
    In the meantime, Carlisle and Rosalie have taken interest in my ‘talent.’ He told me that he’s never seen any vampires have total control over another soul, and that I need to be careful when I use it. He then went into detail about what I like to call the ‘Vampire Police,’ otherwise known as the Volturi. He told me that if any of the Volturi members became aware of my gift (if they weren’t already) then they could attempt to take me away from my new home. Rosalie didn’t like to talk about this.
    Although I’m not supposed to overuse my ‘secret powers’ of hypnosis and mind control, the Cullens have each taken turns practicing it with me, all astonished سے طرف کی my gift. I’ve managed to come close to mastering it, and I’ve almost been able to control مزید than one person at a time. Carlisle doesn’t really approve of this, but he says he’d rather me practice it with him than on my own where someone could see. Even though he doesn’t like me using it on my own, I still do when it comes to hunting. When I am absolutely thirsty, I don’t appreciate having to wait for a deer یا a mountain lion to come close enough that I can pounce.
    One afternoon, after going on a really long hunt, Jacob caught up with me, telling me that he had to talk to me about Seth. I already knew what this was about before he could even speak.
    “If you’re going to tell me that I need to pay مزید attention to him because of آپ guys’ creepy بھیڑیا attachment curse, then don’t bother. He won’t come near me. I’ve tried talking to him, but he seems like he’s scared of me.”
    Jacob laughed, “Listen, Charlotte. آپ don’t like me and I certainly don’t like you. But آپ have to understand that Seth doesn’t know how to handle this. The boy’s never even had a real girlfriend, and now he’s found himself being utterly obsessed with some blood sucker that could rip his head off if he’s too close when she’s a little thirsty. Give the guy some credit here, also, because he’s been able to stay feet away from آپ when it kills him not to see your face at every second. Just try to talk to him again. Please?”
    I frowned. The way he was putting it made me seem like the bad guy in all of this. But, to keep from getting bitched at yet again, I tried desperately ever since to communicate with Seth, although most attempts fell short.
    One day, after putting up with his ‘cold-shoulder’ routine for too long, I cornered him, forcing him to talk to me.
    “O-oh hey, Charlotte, how have آپ been?”
    I was steaming at that point. “Listen, wolfy. I’m really getting tired of this little act you’re playing. Ever since I kissed you, you’ve been totally distant and won’t even talk to me. I thought I was your ‘true love’? So why won’t آپ come talk to me? Then I have your little کتیا, کتيا friend Jacob yelling at me because we’re not communicating enough. How is it my fault?”
    Seth’s lip quivered, and I knew he was upset. I had to admit that I was too hard on him so, guilt-stricken, I hugged him. At first he just stood there, lifeless, but eventually I felt his muscular arms squeeze around my torso. That’s when I felt it. That little sparks of energy that I had never experienced before. I found myself refusing to let go of him, even when he tried to pull away. I held onto him tighter, but when I heard him gasp I knew I was holding on a little too tight.
    “Sorry, Seth,” I said, trying to hide my embarrassment. Instead he smiled.
    “Don’t worry about it, Char. I kinda liked that آپ wanted to hug me for so long,” he smirked, making fun of me.
    “Oh shut up,” I laughed, playfully hitting him in the arm, and laughing even harder when he gasped ‘ow’ at the strength of my punch.
