Vampires are hard to recognise, but with trained eyes, somehow, we manage. Vampires stick out with their, graceful movement, usually hidden eyes and very height-of-fashion (-ish) clothes. But for me; they have certain ‘features’ that my brain categorizes as a vampire. I watched every person that passes me, then my eyes locked in place, at a tall man, dark sun-glasses, a long coat, to his ankles (maybe not so much height-of-fashion), spiky black hair, and a light stubble, he was gorgeous; مزید reason to say he was a vampire. The AVS has a special sign language; that may look as normal hand exercises, یا gestures, like stretching fingers, clenching both fists, that wouldn’t look suspicious, basically.
I twitched my fingers, it meant; “I see it”
I turned to the team, none of them looked as if they just made fun of someone, they were dead serious. We advanced forward; I knew why Dorrin didn’t want me to go, I could FEEL the power radiating off of him, which wasn’t normal. I saw Erik –the guy I almost staked myself, - charging towards him, waving his stake around, he looked like a complete lunatic, as usual. He never gets it right; we’re supposed to do it, in a مزید private location, not in a main سٹریٹ, گلی of Manhattan, we should attract the vampire, with the perfect opportunity, سے طرف کی using someone as bait –someone like Erik, I thought grimly. The vampire, hissed. He pushed Erik aside, like a domino; I tried to get the vamp from behind, then stake it. I held my stake tight. And I rushed stealthily around him. It was going well,
“You think آپ can beat me, آپ pathetic, vampire hunters? آپ think آپ snuck up on me? Ha! My senses can detect an ant scurrying 5 kilometres away!” he laughed humourlessly, then revealed a brilliant white teeth. That was new.
“You little humans are so… primitive! آپ can’t even expect to beat me!” he continued, everyone looked stupid, waving the stakes around. Dorrin got his sleeves torn off, so now it looked like a very trampy top, except for the bronze coloured tan on his muscles. He looked like a total Vampire-Slaying-Hottie. The vamp pushed Erik on the floor, who was now dizzy. Then picked him up again he held his mouth to his throat, that is until I booted the vampire’s face, Erik fell to the floor again.
“Pathetic!” he laughed again.
“Oh yeah? Then why can I do THIS!” Dorrin roared, as he shoved the stake into his chest on the last word. The vampires eyes went wide, his mouth dropped, he dropped to his knees, then on the ground face first. I was almost used to this sight; he would rot into the earth within minutes. Everyone was breathing hard, Dorrin was helping Erik up, who was half-unconscious.
“Th-thanks… for that” Erik stuttered uncomfortably, I didn’t know what, to say, mostly because I was surprised, I just smiled faintly. He jogged back to the jet. Whilst I watched Dorrin wipe the memory of the citizens. He snapped his ‘case’ shut, and walked away casually.
“Hey, well done, with the kick!” he کہا cheerfully,
“Thanks.” I said. The journey ہوم was silent, we got ہوم سے طرف کی five pm. Everyone rushed out, to hang out with their friends, یا spend the night out. Though we were done for the night, we still had to carry stakes around. I didn’t mind, the AVS adjusted my long coat, with secret pockets on the inside, and expected me to fill them up with wooden stakes. I carry only one.
If vampires’ skin is so hard, why can mere wood pierce it? Why not steel? یا iron? یا something more…WEAPON-Y! Then I remembered, it’s their ‘weakness’ I know that they cannot go into a church there is a boundary, between pure and evil, and the pureness, acts like barrier. And running water? The water; rushes like untainted power, which acts like a sponge, absorbing the powers of Vampires. There was a lot of things normal people don’t know, I thought happily.
“What are آپ so happy ’bout?” Mr. Louse, the owner of the local bar The Fang. I didn’t even realise I was sitting, at the counter already. The Fang was like a hangout, in our little town. I spent most of my time here. I noticed his gaze, wander, to my coat, almost at the pocket (or hilt) I shrugged my shoulders and the کوٹ dropped, and concealed it.
“So… what will it be today?” he asked, I didn’t drink, but on a weird occasion, a bit.
“Anything.”
“Comin’ up.” He said. I looked around, I knew every face. I saw a few faces of the newbie AVS members.
