Welcome to the sixth دن of Christmassacre. Today, we aren’t going to be watching an English horror movie. This اگلے one we’ll be looking at caught my eye for two different reasons. The first reason is that this is a Norwegian film. I’ve never seen many Norwegian films, with the other one being Troll Hunter. That was a good found footage movie. I know found footage فلمیں get a lot of hate, but I really liked that one. The سیکنڈ reason for this movie was because it was claimed to be the goriest Christmas horror movie out there. Well, we’ll see about that. Ladies and gentleman, I introduce آپ to the Norwegian slasher movie, Christmas Cruelty, یا the Norwegian title, O'Hellige Jul!
Before watching this movie, I had no idea what it was about. I tried to read about as much as I could about this movie, but there wasn’t a single Wikipedia مضمون anywhere. The IMDb page for this movie claims that the movie is about a serial killer who stalks a small family on Christmas and begins to plan to murder them, which he does so in the third act of the movie (And it states that last part in the story synopsis on the website). Not much is known, other than a company known as Stonewall Productions worked on it (Hard not to notice, as all of the trailers for this movie had the companies عنوان on it). But this movie really tried to be like that of a horror movie. Even going as far as to have the director have an interview with Tommy Lee Sells, a serial killer who is suspected to have killed over twenty people. I am not making that up people. Other than that… insane bit of information, I couldn’t find much else on the film. So, other than that, all I could do was watch the movie myself, which is real hard to find, and come at quite a high price. I think finding information for this movie is scary on it’s own. So, anyway, what is the movie like? Well… It lives up to the title.
Now, I don’t want to دکھائیں any تصاویر of this movie, because… When they say it’s the most violent Christmas horror movie ever… I can’t really say that isn’t false. It is definitely a very violent movie. It’s a little too violent, really. I can’t even دکھائیں تصاویر of this movie without at least getting it taken off the website. So, first, some pros. The acting. Usually, with low budget B-horror movies, the acting is either not that great یا just tolerable. Here, they really managed to make it look scary. It definitely makes آپ feel for the people involved. آپ can tell that these people are incredibly scared. For all we know, the creator could have pulled a Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining and didn’t tell anyone in the movie about a psychotic Santa with one of the most disturbing masks I’ve ever seen for a slasher movie character to get a genuine emotion from them. Sure, it may mean that none of these people will ever want to work with him again, but… At least he got the shot he wanted to get.
Okay, so, another pro. The special effects. Let me tell you, if آپ thought people would have been pissed off with the violence in Silent Night, Deadly Night, they would have lost their damn minds if this was made around that time. When this movie shows a scene of a person being decapitated, it’s not like your typical slasher movie. Jason at least had the decency to cut his victims heads off in one swing. In Christmas Cruelty, the killer here uses a چھری to painstakingly cut a person’s head off, for a full twenty minutes, on screen, with each sound of the bone crunching and blood squirting, for your viewing… “pleasure”. And yeah, it… It definitely looks like he’s slowly being decapitated. And then the guy takes a piss in his house with his head on the bathroom counter. Oh, and then there’s the… lovely scene where he slowly smashes a person’s head in with a hammer, bits of brain and skull flying everywhere (Honestly, I think my descriptions alone will get this مضمون removed from the website). So…. Yeah… سہارا to that.
Honestly, I thought that the Devil’s Rejects was as bad as it could get with it’s gore, and I was able to دکھائیں تصاویر of that… Let me remind you… I was able to دکھائیں تصاویر of the Devil’s Rejects, but not Christmas Cruelty… Let that describe the violence in this movie. I had to take breaks when watching this movie because it was just too much for me to handle. And when it introduced a baby… I had to stop. I know that probably takes away any credibility I have as a critic to not see it to the end, but I couldn’t watch any مزید of this movie. Let that دکھائیں how far this movie goes. If آپ want to watch this movie, be my guest. But if آپ can’t handle anything such as that, than I am not gonna stop آپ from avoiding it. Take care.
