It was 3 o’ clock in the morning, October 31st, “the night of the living dead” as my mother had told me when I was a kid. I never believed her. I could never believe that one dead body can come back to life, and that was one of the reasons that New York’s crime lab selected me. But then it was different. A cold breeze was blowing outside this house –rumor had it that it was haunted- and three bodies were lying on the floor. I was alone in this dark room, while the other investigators were processing the سیکنڈ floor and everything was calm and quiet.

I started collecting evidence, but not many منٹ later, a strange noise was heard. It was just like a dripping tab. But the bathroom was on the سیکنڈ floor. I tried to concentrate on the sound, I moved some meters further down when the noise stopped. Suddenly, something wet fell down on my face. It was a trail of blood. I looked on the floor and realized that I was standing on a small lake made of blood. However, there weren’t any other bodies found on the سیکنڈ floor. And the DNA didn’t match to any of our victims. Where did this blood come from? For a منٹ I was really scared, I wanted to scream, but I overcame this fear on the spot. A crime scene investigator shouldn’t be afraid of crime. But, this wasn’t the end of this story.

I calmed down and I finished my work. The only thing left was to supervise the transportation of the bodies from the crime scene to the lab. The first two victims –killed سے طرف کی a gunshot- were already inside the truck and the third one –killed سے طرف کی a دل attack- was on its way. It was freezing out there. I was again alone with this body, desperate to finish working and go to take a nap sleep. But all of a sudden. This huge black bag where the victim was in, moved. In two minutes, the “dead body” which was inside started struggling to escape. I opened the bag nervously and the victim stood up and opened his eyes. He was hale and exhausted. He didn’t speak, he didn’t move. He fainted and never moved again.

The اگلے دن when I narrated this story to my colleagues, noone believed me. And the forensic’s رپورٹ was clear: the man was dead four hours before this event. I still can’t believe it. Everything happened so quickly. I have tried to give a logical explanation to all this story, maybe I was too tired and I was hallucinating. Who knows? The only sure thing is that both times, I was really terrified and I couldn’t sleep that night. “The night of the living dead” came true…

Are yousomebody who can't wake up in the morning?Do آپ need 2 cups of coffee before آپ can start a new day?Do آپ feel awful when آپ first wake up?

Scientists say it's all because of our genes. How did they find it out?Researchers from the یونیورسٹی of Surrey interviewed 500 people. They asked them سوالات about their lifestyle, for example what time of دن they preferred to do exerscise and how difficult they found it to wake up in the morning.Scientists then compared their جوابات to the people's DNA.

They discovered that we all have a "clock" gene, also called a Period 3 gene. This gene can...

I felt sick and went to the bathroom. I felt sick, but nothing was happening. Then, class ended. The آگ کے, آگ alarm started to ring through the hall ways. Everyone was screaming. I realized the آگ کے, آگ was right in the hallway of the bathrooms. I barely opened the door to find red monsters in the middle of the fire. I tripped and fell out of the doorway. They saw me and before I knew it, I was tied up and being gagged with a cloth. They left me سے طرف کی the fire. Everyone was trying to find the fire. Bruno appeared in the hallway. Bruno ran to me, going through the flames without a scratch, burn, یا injury.....

Kat's POV

"No, آپ idiot, your doing the bow-hand all wrong!" I yelled at Sadao, and fixed the positioning of his fingers on the violin bow. "Even I know how to do it correctly, and I just started a ماہ ago!" I got out my violin and did all the positions, then counted down. On 2, he asked me, "Can آپ sing it to keep...

I stayed in my room all دن on Sunday, coming out once یا twice to use the restroom down the hall. I didn't see Dad at all that day, which was a plus. Not enough to ease my remorse, though. I wanted so much to run to Micah and get the hell away from here. He, after all, was the only thing keeping me from killing myself right at this moment.

On Monday though, Dad knocked on my door, not so violently this time.

"Alessa! Get up now before you're late!" I dragged my limp body over to my closet and got dressed. I finished getting ready, and then was out the door. I missed Micah; I was late. I probably...

Lucy soon became like a mom to me. She watched after me, and made sure I got enough to eat (even if it was from a dumpster). I grew مزید anxious as the nine ماہ mark came near. Only then did I think about actually delivering the baby. Lucy promised she'd help me, and that she'd try to remember how it was handled when she had her sons and daughters. The baby began kicking and shifting around a lot, and it doubled me over in pain. It happened quite frequently, and I became بستر ridden. Lucy didn't want me walking the streets like this, and she insisted that I stayed in the car. She brought me...
