“I still don’t know how آپ did that” Robin admitted
“I’ve always been good with kids” I shrugged
“I think he likes you” Kent laughed from inside the helmet.
“Shut up” I said, my face red.
“Nobody کہا anything” Kalder said
”I was…talking to…myself” I muttered. I glared at Kent. He laughed.
“Liana, was the spell آپ put on Grad and Tala permanent” Kalder asked
“To an extent. It will stay on until I remove it” I explained
“Okay. We really don’t want them turning back to normal right here یا else we’d be in big trouble” he sighed
“Good point” I nodded
“AW MAN! I didn’t get a souvenir from this mission!” Wally complained
“Actually, Wally آپ did. When Amber shot magic at آپ and took آپ down, she left a small trace of her magic sign on you” I explained
“What?” he cocked his head.
“Imagine it as if she took chemicals and threw them at you. Even though the bulk of it is off, آپ still have the residue on you. It will eventually fade, but for now آپ reek of untamed magic” I explained again
“Hey, are آپ saying I smell?” he demanded
“You don’t have much of an attention span, do you?” I sighed “And, yes. آپ do smell. We all do. Everyone who was touched سے طرف کی magic today does. That includes my magic”
“Really? What does it smell like?” he asked
“All magic smells the same: it smells like power mixed with glitter. The stranger the magician, the higher the power/glitter ratio. For example, my magic is مزید of a three part power one and a half part glitter, while Amber’s was an equal two part ratio” I explained
“Ooooh. I get it now” he smiled
“Do آپ really?” I asked
“No” he admitted quietly
“All magic leaves residue on the person who touches it. It all smells like power and glitter. The مزید powerful the person, the مزید power in the smell. Get it now?” I smiled. He didn’t respond.
“I think آپ broke him” Robin laughed. I snapped in front of his face a couple times. I looked at Robin, who came over. He slapped Wally across the face. Still no reaction. I got up and walked over to Artemis.
“Hey, Artemis, can you- oh no” I said. Out the window, a bird was in mid flap. I looked down and saw a kid about to catch a flying disk. I turned back to Robin. He looked scared.
“Faith…what’s happened?” he asked. I didn’t reply.
“Not آپ to!? I don’t want to be alone. Not now” he pleaded
“Robin. T-time is frozen” I whispered.
Out the window, a bird was in mid flap.
