let me say this first, when i was growing up Aaliyah was my favorite singer but i wouldn't say she was the best singer. she had alot of well made songs, great songs and a beautiful voice but it wasnt really strong. I will say Aaliyah was great because she had charisma and a great entertainer, and had great sounding songs, and her own style

To me Aaliyah is THE ONE, the real Queen of R&B, with an amazing, unique and angelic voice. Beautiful deep tones, touching falsetto and amazing high notes.

For me, Aaliyah is the one and only, so of course I'd pick 'great'. But at the same time I'm aware of other artists being or capable of being better than her, simply by different range of voice of different sound. But still Aaliyah is my the one and only, whom I already know, I'll love until I die.
