It was called FX Renews 'American Horror Story' for Season 6 - Hollywood Reporter
Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
The network has ordered a sixth installment of the Ryan Murphy-Brad Falchuk anthology series. The new season will premiere in 2016. The renewal news comes as little surprise, considering
“With the sixth installment coming next year,
American Horror Story has unquestionably joined the ranks of television’s landmark series,” said FX Networks CEO John Landgraf in announcing the news Tuesday. "From Murder House to Hotel, AHS has pioneered a new television form, as well as becoming FX’s highest-rated show, while also pushing every conceivable boundary of creative excellence and audacity."
He added, "This is even more remarkable because Ryan and co-creator Brad Falchuk tear up the playbook every year, challenging the entire creative team to come up with something even more spectacular, frightful and entertaining. You could not ask more of an artist, their team or a series and with every new installment they deliver."
To date, Murphy has kept largely quiet about a theme for the forthcoming season, just as he has about the cast, save for revealing that he has approached Lady Gaga about returning to the series. In
last month, Murphy said he'd pitched his vision to the singer turned actress, and they were hoping to make it work with her touring schedule.
The first four installments of the FX series earned 71 Emmy Award nominations and 13 wins, including five for fourth installment Freak Show. The fifth entry, Hotel, is pacing ahead of all prior installments. In fact, through its first four episodes, Hotel is 7 percent ahead of Freak Show among adults 18-49 and 1 percent among total viewers. The
premiere marked the second-most-watched telecast in FX Networks history, behind only the premiere episode of AHS: Freak Show.
