Baz fights for his life in the first promo for Animal Kingdom season 3 

left off in its season 2 finale, let’s put it as simply as possible: Baz was shot.

Sadly, that’s about all we know. The question of who shot Baz (Scott Speedman) is still out there, along with an even bigger one — Will Baz survive? But EW has an exclusive first look at season 3, in which Baz is a least taken to the hospital, so perhaps he has a chance.

However, the bulk of the promo — which you can watch in full above — focuses on J’s (Finn Cole) new role. “You are in charge of the business,” Smurf (Ellen Barkin) tells him from behind bars. “Your uncles work for you.” And more importantly, it seems J is ready to embrace his role, an idea that probably isn’t going to sit well with his uncles considering he’s still new to this business and, you know, their nephew.
