I'm I the only who thinks this?

I think they want to make the legend of korra مزید emotional than the avatar the last airbender. The last airbender was a funny دکھائیں to entertain all the children but the legend of korra has some drama scenes like when she was kidnapped in season 1 and also this can be seen in season 3 a lot (for all those who haven't seen season 3 SPOILERT ALERT!) when korra is captured سے طرف کی the earth queen and the red lotus hurt tenzin.

You're probably not the only one. I mean she does cry a fair bit but Imma give her leeway due to the circumstances. I think her tears are shed very realistically. She does have a lot of pressure and some of the foes she faced were pretty scary.
