Hehe ... I had to do that, as I never know when I'll next be on Fanpop!! Though I sincerely hope that I will be on here once more within this week.
Now, on to the important stuff.

Last round, I gleefully farewelled Trevor and Stevie ... though perhaps glee is too cheerful a word to use, as my joy was somewhat tainted by the fact that no one, not ONE SINGLE OTHER PERSON picked. Come on Baleheads, that pick was open for a whole fortnight. Where were you all that time??

but who am I to talk? I, who have not been n Fanpop for quite some time. Yet when I do get back, nothing has changed (except the whole look of Fanpop ... but yeah, nothing content-wise). It has been MONTHS. *sigh* I guess that everyone must have discovered their lives. I found mine, for a while, but I lost it again. It wasn't all that interesting, merely consisting of trying to convince Amazon that my savings card is a dbit card (unsuccessfully) so that I could buy all the Christian Bale films which I don't own. A ploy which Amazon really didn't fall for.

And now, to the pick. I found this rounds decision more than a little difficult. I eventually chose Jim and Marta because, let’s face it, I've only seen Harsh Times six times, and I don't own it. It wasn't in any way a pick based on what I think of their relationship. I'm not even going to go into their relationship. It's too complex, as you all know. I simply picked them because they mean less to me on a personal level, as I haven’t stared at their faces for hundreds of hours ... yet.

So, nothing deep in my decision. I reckon that Edward and Posy will get the boot this round. If just because the picture I put up of them simply isn't them. Yes, he, my friends, is not Posy, nor is he Edward. He is, in fact, STEVIE :)
As much as I love Stevie, I recognise that he is not Edward and Posy, but the computer I'm currently on doesn't really have many of my pictures. You may notice this from the fact that most of the pictures aren't ones which show any relationship between people. I just couldn’t be bothered looking for my pictures or USB-ing them onto here, because NetNanny was giving me enough trouble trying to convince me that Fanpop was inappropriate because of web exceptions, and trying to re-direct me to Facebook. Yes, I am on the communal family computer. Lucky me. My parents have to have some web filter so the little children don't do anything stupid. Like go on ... horror of all horrors ... the dreaded Fanpop. Go die, NetNanny.

So, I will be horrible to you if you don’t comment and explain why you’ve picked. And if you do comment, I’ll be horrible then as well … even if I agree with you and you’ve presented a brilliant argument :)

I'm torn between loving the fact that someone has made a pick, and hating the fact that they picked Howl and Sophie. I'm going to go away, sit in m room, and cry for a while, then come back and give you a piece of my mind. Haha, no ... I'm jut going to go ad write some more of my History essay.
But seriously ... Howl and Sophie?

Perhaps you chose them out of misplaced malice, perhaps out of lack of knowledge, or your inability to perceive a relationship between animated characters, or perhaps you chose them because of the very structure of their relationship. Whichever reason it was, you chose them – and only you know who you are.
Basis for a choice of Howl and Sophie due to malice and spite can be found in innumerable places. A personal vendetta based on improbable grounds – things which have no grounding in reason and do not ring true with others. “Personal,” is a somewhat delightful word, as a personal opinion can NEVER be wrong. However, as any good teacher will tell you, a personal opinion can just as easily be completely wrong. There’s a fine line between a valid opinion, and an invalid opinion. All that an opinion needs to be valid is backing – a person needs to back their opinion up with whys and wherefores, and to prove that there is reasoning behind the stated opinion. Whether a personal opinion is correct has nothing to do with any basis in facts or figures, as there is no right or wrong. Someone could argue that the sky is black, and if their reasoning stood to the test, they would dubbed correct, and their statement would be perfect, even if the truth behind the fact it is pushing is incorrect. On the other hand, someone who merely states the sky is blue will be completely incorrect, as their argument is not supported by any well-thought out statements or “proof,” and even though what they are saying may be completely scientifically true, they are still incorrect. Arguments and reasoning are required to give a personal opinion any validity. Everything has reasoning behind it, so why not voice it? Fight back! Do not bear these words in silence, you who picked Howl and Sophie! Pray tell me why you would pick them, as I not only want to rebut your argument but to see why anyone could dislike them as a couple.
Another cause of the withholding or non-existence of reasoning is ignorance. Ignorance of something does not make the something any less than it is, because the thing is unchanged before you have viewed it, as it is after you have viewed it, and its stature is therefore the same prior to viewing as after, correct? So not having seen Howl’s moving Castle is no excuse for picking them, because if you were going to be entirely fair, you wouldn’t pick those which you were unsure about, unless it was a last resort, no? And surely it cannot be a last resort, as Howl and Sophie have been picked previously (conclusively by the same person), so it cannot be a final attempt to see them off before the departure of couples you really care about, because there has to be at least one couple which doesn’t quite make the cut for you, doesn’t there? Just because you haven’t seen the film isn’t a good enough reason to write the couple off ... right? Or is it? Do we really want a little-known couple making it to the top because we fans didn’t have the sense to remove them in favour of the couples which we felt for? Is it right to let them be sheltered by their obscurity? However, as a fan of Christian Bale, it cannot have been hard to find the film, to either purchase or borrow it, and to then watch it, and discover the couple of Howl and Sophie.
What of the idea that computerized images whose mouths aren’t even in sync with the language slightly lessens the couple? Codswallop. It may lessen the experience, for some who like to drink in you-know-who’s features, but hey, you’ve got his beautiful voice and talent in HMC, I’ll think you’ll survive. But no, it does nothing to lessen the relationship. That idea is simply materialistic, which no real relationships are, so if such a thing broke the relationship, then I would agree that it is a TERRIBLE relationship.
Lastly, I suppose that you may have a real reason to dislike Howl and Sophie. My challenge is: Prove it.
What can I say? I invite arguments, discussions, anything!! It would be nice to connect with some other fans of Christian Bale, and heaven forbid, some other Baleheads. I would love to talk about him to someone, really talk, and have a proper computer-to-computer conversation with lots of words and opinions. That’s what the forums are for, right? Well, nobody else seems to care about that sort of thing. An argument would be alright too – a chance to prove what I think and know someone is reading it and rebutting it. Lovely. Please, I have nobody to talk to about him, and honestly, Fanpop’s my outlet for all thoughts him, but there’s no-one responding, I’m just sending words into an empty void, and they’re getting sucked up and wasted. So thanks, fellow Fanpoppers, for the stimulating conversation which we just had. Not to be bitter or anything.
And, dagnabbit (not sure if that’s a word), if anyone has picture/s of Edward with Portia (Portrait of a Lady) I would love to have one :)

*SHOCK* Someone picked Mandras and Pelagia?!?! And another someone picked Howl and Sophie?!?! I really don't get it. I'd love people to comment because otherwise I won't have much for my article :(
