Excusable for the most part no. Acceptable, yes. Before anyone gets mad, let me explain. I think it's acceptable as far as male violence is via slapstick comedy in fiction. But other than that, not really. It's excusable only if the female is being violent first and the man needed to defend himself.

This one was actually rational. However in tumblr's Once fandom there are people who get butthurt about Hook being too controlling for Emma when it's not the case. He's even been called a rapist. I, myself, no. Thankfully. I like to think that I'd never allow it to occur.

I would say آپ are correct. But male violence has also been prevalent and present from the very beginning an throughout all of the eras as well--if anything male violence was مزید prominent in the past. Violence in general has just been around since the dawn of man. And sexual violence against women in older eras was actually considered acceptable. Just like physical violence against men.
