Wow tiebreaker already on the first round. This was a tough choice but I have to say Frozen since it specifically makes jabs at older Disney films. It's very condescending toward them and I doubt Walt would appreciate that.

Specifically made jabs? When did Frozen ever make a jab at other Disney movies?

^ "You can't marry a man you just met," ALMOST EVERY FREAKING DISNEY MOVIE MADE! Anyway, I don't think Walt would care for Frozen because it does jab at the past Disney films. But Brave technically isn't his company's work and, while I ADORE her, I don't think he'd care much for Merida.

Being as objective as possible, Frozen took the world by storm (snowstorm?), won awards, and was technically the most successful animated movie. I'd be curious as to what Walt would think of it.
I'd actually like to see what he'd think of Brave as well, since it is somewhat unusual for a Disney movie (non-musical, non-romantic, Pixar-esque, etc.). I'm not sure he'd have liked Brave as much as he might have liked Frozen.

It's hard to choose between the two. everyone has made good points about them both. at least most of us can agree these two would be his least favorites.

^^^First off, can I please ask a question without someone yelling at me? If you weren't yelling then excuse me, but that's how I take cap locks in this situation.

Anyway, I think that comment can be taken in different ways. Yes, that is the case with most Disney Princess movies ("ALMOST EVERY FREAKING DISNEY MOVIE MADE!" is a bit extreme.), but I don't think the franchise meant it in a disrespectful or condescending tone. I actually laughed when Elsa said that because that is how a lot of the earlier princesses' got their princes', and I took it as kinda a joke, or a teasing remark. I know I'm not the only person who took it in that kind of sense, however I can see why some would say otherwise.

That specific comment would not sway my opinion to show Walt Disney 'Frozen'. I don't think Walt would take offense to it. Of course I can't be certain, but I think he would find it humorous.

@KatieK102 I see where you're coming from that it's supposed to be humorous, and if it had just been Elsa's remark it probably wouldn't have been condescending, but then Kristoff makes a huge deal about it when Anna tells him. If I remember correctly he says something along the lines of "What kind of person marries a man they just met that day??" thus implying that all prior princesses are idiots or something equivalent. That's what makes it condescending.

I think Brave offers a genuine and heartfelt familial bond, way more than Frozen does anyway. The only reason Frozen took the world by storm is because it unsubtly subverts the tropes Disney movies are built on. It's very tongue in cheek, and even hypocritical and really don't think Walt would think much of it without the 50 years of Disney movie context.

Why would he care about a movie that is not even a true Disney movie? Brave misses everything what makes a movie a Disney movie, most of all the musical parts. For me the songs are very important in a Disney movie.
Brave is not a classical Disney like example Frozen.

Frozen just turned popular because it mocks early Disney movies and we live in a generation that they think it's "cool" to mock Disney in general. Add in some half-assed "feminism" and typical Broadway tunes (modern broadway, as in pop songs that are just there to be flashy and mindless sorta like Wicked's music) and you've got a success in your hands.

Hmm. This movie is full of hypocrisy. Besides the OVERT reference to how all other Disney Princesses ARE FOOLS for seeking romance, I especially hate the Frozen fanbase for touting this movie as the first Disney movie to do _X___ thing. For example: to feature the love between sisters ( boldface lie: Lilo and Nani), the first to feature a Disney princess who remains single ( another lie: Merida), the first Disney movie to have a prince and princess who are kinda mostly friends with a dash of romance ( another lie: Mulan and Pocahontas), the first movie to feature a prince who is a bad guy ( another lie: Beast from B&B is ruthlessly cruel before he becomes nice), the first Disney movie that is on par with The Lion King ( I THOUGHT this was WAY OFF, and very misleading, because the plot was not even borrowed from literature like Hamlet, and not even taken from Hans Christian Andersen who WROTE the original story---but was -- instead--- a truly boring exercise in ridiculing past Disney movies, and cramming as many songs and set-pieces into the storyboard as possible). The result was that Frozen has VERY LITTLE PLOT whatsoever. To think that Walt himself spent YEARS making Sleeping Beauty, and the plotline is coherent there...while the Snow Queen was backburnered for years...and this was the result. A box office smash it may be, and it has spawned a collective cultural meme and hysteria, but there is very little to recommend in this movie. Elsa and Anna's sisterly relationship at the core of this movie IS NOT STRONG AT ALL. Yes, Walt might not like Brave for being non-traditional Disney. But I feel like he would be upset to see all the ridicule, and shortcuts that the Disney company made with Frozen in his name. Just saying.

I definitely agree with MalloMar, I'd be interested to see what he'd make of Frozen. Honestly I think he'd quite enjoy it (regardless of the 'digs'), certainly more than Brave anyway.
