While the animators obviously had limited textures and patterns to work with, the actual style and cut of her dress could have been far more interesting; not to mention the accessories. Before Pocahontas gets her mother's necklace, her outfit design is yawn-worthy--it's only afterwards that she gets some sort of strong visual identity.
