Emo can be:
the way آپ dress
A lifestyle
Or
A style of music.

If آپ wear the clothes, like the music, and have the lifestyle (writing poetry, crying all the time, آپ are EMOtional) آپ are emo.

Emo has been severely stereotyped. People often think of emos as violent, shy creatures who cut themselves and write dark poetry. Not all of us are like that. Some of us cut because it seems to be the only thing we can control:our pain. Some of us do write dark poetry, and some don't, but that doesn't define us. It's مزید of a lifestyle than anything else. Usually quiet and shy, emos were originally people who liked emo music, which has never and will never be mainstream. Emo موسیقی really started picking up in the '90's. Emo really just means emotional. Everyone is emotional, we just express it differently. Hope this helped
