\'Sports Chosun\' ranks girl group idols for 2015

\'Sports Chosun\' revealed their results for girl group rankings of 2015 using fans\' rankings that were posted onto a recent online community entitled \'Girl Group Rankings to Look at for Fun\' as the foundation. They also added in the stances and opinions from 10 girl group representatives.

The Uncrossable Wall of the 4th Dimension,\' meaning a ranking that is hard to enter.  It consists of

Girls\' Generation, 2NE1, and SISTAR with Girl\'s Day making their way into that tier. The article noted that while Girls\' Generation and 2NE1 remain in this top star tier, this wasn\'t completely satisfactory, either, saying that the former\'s competitiveness was greatly falling while 2NE1 lost their chance.  \'Sports Chosun\' predicts a large change here next year, calling these two groups \'An Uneasy First Place.\'

A Pink snugly sat in the spot alone, although it was noted that AOA was quickly rising into the tier--just not there quite yet.  

A Cube\'s deputy Kang Yoon Shik said regarding AOA, "

Their musical development isn\'t bad and they\'re a group that succeeded after changing to a sexy concept," while Dream Tea Entertainment\'s diretor Na Sang Chun said, "They\'re consistently maturing and garnering recognition, so they\'re a group whose future promotions I look forward to."

SECRET, f(x), 4minute, and KARA snugly ranked there with the note that f(x) went down one while KARA went up one.

EXID (first entry), miss A (down one), and Nine Muses.  The most interesting one is EXID, who suddenly rose to fame this year. Starship Entertainment\'s Director Seo Hyun Joo said, "They\'re a group that created the term \'forced comeback\' after gaining hot interest from men through member Hani\'s fancam." 

Suzy, who has been promoting alone for a long time due to her immense popularity.  One rep, who asked for anonymity, stated, "Because [Suzy\'s popularity] is lasting, the group in its entirety is steadily losing its strength," while another stated, "It\'s a group that has absolutely no meaning without Suzy."

The next tier, \'Popularity Maginot Line,\' includes

T-ara, Dal Shabet (down one), Crayon Pop (down one), and Hello Venus.  The last tier, \'Candidate Group,\' include BESTie and lots of impressive rookie groups like MAMAMOO, Red Velvet, G-Friend, and SONAMOO.  

G-Friend are gaining attention from male fans recently for their refreshing image while SONAMOO was attention-grabbing with their powerful dance and strong image.  MAMAMOO is, as expected, receiving a lot of attention as a talented rookie group."  Director Jung Won Jung said, "Red Velvet has enough potential when it comes to expectations because they\'re SM\'s new girl group."

Eg SISTAR. I love them but their albums don\'t really do well. They are popular with the korean public but their fanbase is honestly quite weak. And some of the other girl groups as well lol

weird list. SISTAR in the best tier despite the fact that there albums never do well?and EXID is already in the 4th tier , ahead of Crayon Pop, despite the fact that both groups have only had one hit song?

Also, how is Secret so high up when they dont fare well on the album charts anymore?

Well, I still stand by my opinion, don\'t understand what Exid and 9Musues have.... Maybe they are more popular becauce of tv-shows and other media, because I don\'t watch that, I mostly just listen to the music/MVs

While others care here for bashing, I came here to congratulate to all the girl groups.

@AJLee why do you have to jump to conclusions? we don\'t really know what happened behind the doors, so lets just love everybody!

The first thing I\'ll say is that I want to see a boy group ranking for once. Goddammit Sports Chosun, get your game together.

Secondly, I think we should understand that this is a ranking from WITHIN Korea. They\'re not thinking the same way as I-fans.

However, on that note, I completely disagree with 80% of this list as an international fan :P I\'m not actually gonna touch on SNSD and 2NE1 except to say to haters that they\'re at the top because they\'re legendary, not necessarily because they did better than other groups overall (except that 2NE1 entirely slayed with CRUSH, so IDK what\'s going on there about 2NE1 \'missing their chance\'). They really paved the way for girl groups, so that is why they\'re so lasting.

You know what, I have nothing against SISTAR being on that top tier, actually. I\'m not going to say that they\'re as popular as SNSD and 2NE1, but they have both a mature and fun way about them, their music is constantly catchy and successful and they\'re all beautiful and successful.

Now here\'s where the issues start big time. I actually agree with Girl\'s Day being above APink. They\'ve been at it longer, have had just a bit more success and all of the members are popular. But, with an international perspective, I don\'t actually think these groups are above groups like f(x) and 4minute especially, but also Secret and Kara (who made an epic comeback). And AoA doesn\'t really either.

See what I don\'t like about this list is that they\'re holding SNSD and 2NE1 above other groups sort of indefinitely, sometimes purely for reputation, whereas groups like Girl\'s Day, APink and AoA (as much as I love Girl\'s Day and AoA) are a bit more flavour of the moment than veteran groups like the ones mentioned above. f(x) has been successful and popular in Korea and internationally for years, Red Light was epic on a new scale and yet they\'ve fallen? Just because of Sulli? Really?

I\'m not even gonna talk about the other ones, as I don\'t think it\'s much worth mentioning, except for T-ara and Mamamoo. Firstly, with T-ara, people need to get over the bullying thing. We still don\'t know the whole story, and if we\'re being honest with ourselves, they would be near the top (if not at the top) if not for the scandal. And Mamamoo is just amazing, I just wanted to say that :)

Also, saying that Miss A is nothing without Suzy is just stupid. Without Miss A, Suzy would never have been an idol. Maybe a model or actress, but she\'s not enough on her own (sorry, I love her, but Miss A all carry each other, not just Suzy carrying them).

Anyways, hate the list, sorry for the essay. If you read this, you\'re a strange and amazing person.

wow i didnt realize theres just these few of popular girl groups? i thought theres like hundreds of girl groups coming out... i miss EVOL.. they had great potential. and A.KOR too but they are promoted badly.

I\'m not going to get in to all the others because its a big debate but I will say I agree with AoA, I\'m not a huge stan but I like them and know them well enough to know their names but recently from what I\'ve seen from them has been very SNSD and by that I mean it reminds me very much of  when SNSD were in their early stages, obviously they\'re not SNSD level but they\'re on the right track.

Also as a SECRETTIME since debut it\'s nice to see Secret get a mention, Even with the BAP lawsuit going on i hope Secret has success this year i was blown away by I\'m In Love from the music to the styling to the video and choreography and I hope they comeback even stronger.

I believe everything is in the wrong order EXCEPT for the Queens Snsd & 2ne1 ! They\'re at the right spot. Hmm i think Sistar should be somewhere below them, i mean i don\'t hate Sistar, but tbh sistar is not even near GG & 2ne1\'s level at all. GG & 2ne1 is on their own level, where no other girl groups can come near or destruct their position. They\'re just both that amazing.

I think by "greatest plague" you mean one of the only great artists of K-Pop and probably the soloist with the best discography.

Bitch please, shes the most well known talented current young solo artists. Also one of the most hard working professional idols and shes been doing it since her preteens.
