Yes, the British did have a hold of the Philippines, sorta. The British occupied Manila for 2-4 years (Manila is the capital of the Philippines) and that's it. Their occupation was neither very impactful یا eventful. A lot of Filipinos don't even know that the British were even in the Philippines, literally the only thing that still lasts today from back then is the fact Filipinos say "sir" and "ma'am" whether they are talking in English یا not as a form of respect.

I commend آپ for knowing that Britain knocked at the Philippines door specifically during the 7 years war 1757-1764 in which Britain authorized a fleet to conquer Manila the capital. unfortunately the forces sent are not quite big enough so they just occupied Manila and the surrounding areas and after Spain sued for peace they returned the capital as part of the peace settlement. I really think Britain should have just outright annexed the archipelago it would be better for us Filipinos under British rule.
