Maybe I'm too late and slow, but why is Kate NOT a Candidate? Why is her name crossed out in the cave? (by the way: is it really so?) What do آپ think about it?

I found proof that she is crossed out but i dont know why, I guess we will find out during the finale.

We don't know yet, but i think in this weeks podcast the producers implied that since it's a mystery thats important to the characters it's reasonable to assume that it'll be solved in the finale.
