Ellie Bishop leaves NCIS team-When will she return? 

On “NCIS” latest episode, “Day in Court,” Ellie Bishop (Emily Wickersham) left Washington D.C. and headed west for Oklahoma after getting her heart broken by Jake (Jamie Bamber).

As it turns out, Jake isn’t in trouble with Internal Affairs — he’s been having his own little extracurricular internal affair with his coworker, Taylor Matthews. After he comes clean with Ellie, she understandably just needs to just get away for awhile.

“Jake — I’m in a bad place. I hurt a lot. I’m going home to Oklahoma. Don’t contact me. I’m not sure when I’ll be back,” writes Ellie in her goodbye letter to her ex.

But do not despair, “NCIS” fans. Ellie won’t be gone for long. In fact, her return to her home state provides a wonderful opportunity to get a look at where Agent Bishop comes from — the “Bionic Woman” herself. That’s right, Lindsay Wagner has been cast as Ellie’s mom.

Plus, based on the photos and previews for next week’s episode, “Blood Brothers,” Gibbs (Mark Harmon) is chasing after Bishop to act as her pseudo-father and help her figure things out. Aww.
