On a scale of 1-10............

War isn't just killing other people to prove which country is better.

Take World War 2 for example. Facism was a rising power in Europe, along with Communism. Hitler, the leader of the Nazi party and ruler of Germany at the time, wanted to restore Germany's once former glory, and thus invaded other countries in order to do so. Prior to that, Germany had incredible inflation problems and little food to feed themselves with. Hitler was seen as a hero to a majority of the German people, and thus they followed him.

Soon Germany dominated all of Europe that was land based. Only England had not been invaded, and things weren't going very smoothly for them. The United States then entered the war because 1)As soon as England went down, the US knew they would be next. 2) Supply ships being sent to England were being destroyed سے طرف کی German UV boats, which angered the US. 3) With the bombing of Pearl Harbor, the US decided to act.
Had it not been for those circumstances, chances are the war would've made a turn for the worse. The whole reason we're not a Facist country could be because of our role in WW2. We didn't fight to دکھائیں off what we have. We fought to protect our ideals, and to stop Hitler from taking over with Facism.
All wars have been fought to protect ideals, not this silly idea to prove which one is better.

I'm not saying I'm pro-war, believe me, I like the idea of no war, but sometimes it's inevitable. I have no idea where on the scale I fall.

We aren't trying to prove that our country is better. What I was told was that we are trying to help Afghanistan become free. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it has NOTHING to do with trying to prove our country being better. Even still, I think my number would be 6.

10. War is stupid. But is there a specific war you're talking about.

Let's see...

- Afghanistan: fought to liberate the افغان people from the Taliban

- Vietnam: fought to liberate the Vietnamese people from a communist government

- World War 2: fought to prevent the expansion of Nazi Germany into eastern Europe, and potentially the rest of the world

- World War 1: fought سے طرف کی Britain to honour a گزشتہ agreement with Belgium, as well as an Entente with Russia and France; fought سے طرف کی America after they discovered that Germany was making secret deals with Mexico to fight the USA for its land

I believe that war was justified and necessary in each of these four examples. Not one had anything to do with which country was better. I certainly do not condemn anybody involved with these, and I am proud to have ancestors and relatives who fought in them. Ideally, I would like a peaceful world, but - human nature being what it is - I realise that it isn't possible, so I will have to conclude that on a scale of one to ten I rate war at about 5. Because some things are worth fighting for. :)

I think it depends on the war's true reason. We civillians only know one side of the story so...I can never say for sure. Right now, I think we should put a damn atom bomb on Syria. The US is just straightening things out, but sometimes, it gets a bit too violent. With asses like Syria, anything goes. But with other countries, even Afghanistan, we should try to save people, and work things out peacefully. This is my opinion, so don't get your panties in a bunch.

Sometimes war is inevitable.

Let us take the Philippine-American war for example.
The Filipinos fought the Americans because they wanted to be an independent country after being ruled سے طرف کی Spain for 333 years.
America helped liberated us Spain but in the end we were sold to America.
The Filipinos didn't want to go under another country's rule so they had to fight for their freedom once again.

Their is also WW2 for example. But I think it has already been explained.

I'm not a supporter of war and I think it is the worst way to end یا solve a conflict between two nations, but war is inevitable.

It's not always to prove which country is better; actually, the only war I know of where that was the actual reason was the Cold War, and that wasn't really a people-dying kind of war. War is fought for some very honorable reasons; freeing the slaves, winning independence from another country, یا trying to stop other countries from taking over the world.

I'd guess I'd be a six.

I'm all for peace and no war but I can see how throughout history war was necessary. Unfortunately, not everyone agrees that war is stupid and unnecessary. I guess we can't all settle our decisions through talking it out. I wish we could but that's just not the way the world works. Sometimes we have to kill because that's the only way to stop psychos from getting what they want and creating a chaotic world. It's just human nature to want power and some people will go through wars to have it.
