Here’s everything we know so far about Star Trek Discovery.

There’s a lot of Star Trek Discovery information out there spread all over the internet, so we thought we’d put everything we know about the series in one place.
The series centers around a major galactic event that’s already established in the Prime timeline, but we don’t know what that event is yet. It’s sadly not the Romulan war.
We know that the opening scene of the series is not set on Earth.
The ship is a Section 31 sanctioned ship. Section 31 is a shadowy intelligence arm of the Federation government that doesn’t always play by the rules. From this you can probably that that the ship will be involved in some secret missions and charting and gathering intelligence on unknown areas of space.
The first season will contain 13 episodes. Some of the episodes will stand alone, but all of them will be part of a larger season long story.
The lead in the series will be a female who has yet to be cast. The lead will not be the captain, but will be a lieutenant commander. This is interesting because we’ve always seen Star Trek from a captain’s point of view. The lead may eventually become the captain however because we’ve been told that she will “have many ranks”. So we could be following this character as she works her way up in rank on the ship over several seasons?
The lead will be human, but there will be a lot more alien diversity on the ship and in the series. This makes sense because the Federation is made up of hundreds of worlds, so the ship shouldn’t be mostly human. We know we probably have an Andorian crew member.
There will be robots on the show, but we don’t know if they will be Federation robots, or robots the Federation encounters.
cast will include a male and female admiral, a male adviser, a British doctor, and Star Trek’s first openly gay character.
Being ten years before Kirk the show will feature a lot of the iconography from
The show might be a littler bit more gritty since TV is in general darker now, but Bryan Fuller says it won’t be
. Star Trek is still about a bright future for humanity and the show will reflect that fact.
