The guy that played Krum on Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire for Kyle.

I don't like Sophia Bush for Melanie. Maybe Jessica Alba, but I am not sure yet. I have a picture in my head, but I can't think of anyone that meets that picture.

yep, jensen for jared, why not sophia bush? I like her as mel, i didnt at first-but once i watched a few fanmade trailers with her as mel, i started to. I want tom weling as ian, he might be a little young though....or maybe not i have a LOT of ideas for him.

Oh, Tom Weiling would be great! It's so funny how all our ideas are basically from CW actors (well, that is what the station is called where I live). Sophia Bush just doesn't have that tough girl, but pretty girl look. She's pretty, but she doesn't look tough as Melanie seems to me.

I have the absolute perfect wanda. at least in my opinion.
She's a model, but she loves acting and her face is just so innocent and beautiful you want to protect her.

Well, it depends on what kind of movie this is going to be. Both will probably have older characters than in the book, which is how I have it here. I don't really want it to be #1, but if it happens, it happens...

1) PRODUCTION A: Pretty Much "The CW Does The Host"
2) Production B: If it's more like the casting in The Road

The one I want is more like the second (not that I'd mind the first):
MEL: SUMMER GLAU (she's one of the scifi staples in my mind!)
Wanda/PET: an unknown, please, or AMANDA SEYFRIED or EVANNA LYNCH.
JARED--I like the idea of JENSEN ACKLES as Jared--he'd have to be
less playful, though.

I agree, Josh Duhamel would be the perfect Jared!
Not only does he look like he could be a Jared, but with the roles he has played I can easily imagine him being the both tender, love-softened Jared towards Melanie but also the toughened, athletic survivor-man.
Also, I think Brandon Routh should play Ian. Just make him wear blue contacts! haha. But seriously, as Superman in Superman Returns, Routh has the capability of filling in that sweet-natured role of protector that Ian plays for Wanda. Though casting Ian will be difficult because he has a twin, Kyle, maybe something can be worked out with Routh. He's the perfect stature and look, with jet black hair and standing at a gargantuan 6 foot 4 or something.
I cannot wait to see this book adapted to film. I just hope it doesn't disappoint, like Twilight did on the big screen...

I think Ian should be played by Milo Ventimiglia...give him some blue contacts and his floppy hair from season 1 Heroes and he would be perfect!

For Melanie I would suggest either Camilla Belle, Audrina Patridge or Amber Heard...

im liking heaps of your ideas, except i dont like anybodys idea of jamie! In my head, he looked nothing like josh hutcherson or logan lerman. Sorry, but i don't think he was intended to look like that in the book either. I always imagined him a little more tanned and cuter. I don't know if anyone agrees with me, but to me it just seems extremely obvious that jamie is not supposed to look anything like josh hutcherson. My idea of jamie was someone a little like Lorenzo Henrie. He has been the best person i have found to play the role of jamie.
