Anyone but me find it unfair that Rita and Zedd's son Thrax was killed and never came back?

It just never seemed fair to me that Rita and Zedd were purified and their son wasn't. I keep wishing they could bring him back somehow and reform him. Watching him get killed the way he did was just heartbreaking to me.
