Is Steven R. McQueen Leaving The Vampire Diaries? 

We have good news and bad news, fang fans. The good news is that along with

Season 7 is happening; The CW has picked up our go-to Thursday night treat for yet another year! As for the sad update? Well, it can break your heart or warm it, depending on how you look at it.

Take a deep breath, because here goes nothing: Steven R. McQueen is leaving the show as a series regular. According to Julie Plec, who dropped the huge bomb on fans during an interview with

, Steven’s character, Jeremy Gilbert, is bowing out in TVD episode 6×14. But don’t worry, he’s not dying (again); instead, he’s saying “peace” to all the Mystic Falls mayhem and heading to art school for a fresh start.

“He’s growing up and moving on. He will be out living a real life,” Julie explained. She added that while Jeremy’s farewell is upsetting, it’s the next natural step for his journey. (Honestly, this vamp hunter can’t spend the rest of his existence lurking around the Lockwood Manor, sexing random ladies, crying over Bonnie, and getting crunk by noon.) “We’re in the third act of our storytelling of the show,” she pointed out. “Everything that we’re doing is moving towards the end. Over the course of the next few years, we will need to start having the characters make choices about what they want with their lives and say goodbye to some people. It’s all part of moving toward the end, however long that takes.”

That being said, Steven won’t be MIA for too long. Apparently he’ll be dropping by major life events. Like what, for example? Oh, you know: Weddings, funerals and series finales!

True, you tried to kill your sister. But it\'s alright because that was beyond your control. Plus, you killed one of Klaus\' hybrids in order to stop the Hunter\'s Curse from making her go cray cray.

The fact that Steven R. McQueen aka Jeremy Gilbert won’t be considered a main character were use to seeing in basically every single episode in every single season is fine cuz he needs to better himself and heal by spending his time away from Mystic Falls. But when Bonnie comes back he sire as hell become a main character again.

No way, he can’t leave. Everyone in the show fits, one without the other just won’t be the same. I am hoping this isn’t true. Loved Jeremy with Bon Bon, Jeremy is just important as anyone else. Plus he’s grown up now .

Yeah I am sad that my sexy husband Steven R. McQueen is leaving The Vampire Diaries for a while I been watching him since the beginning of the show I been liking him since he was in Everwood and whatever he does next I will be watching him because he is one of my favorite actors and he can do anything he put his mind to do but I am definitely going to miss seeing one of my favorite eye candy Jeremy Gilbert around Mystic Falls. I hate to play devils advocate but honestly who cares? I mean seriously at best he’s been a filler character. It could be just me but out of the whole cast he’s the least interesting in this story. It just seems to me if he disappeared entirely nothing at all would change with exception of 1 lame whiny scene every episode with him feeling sorry for himself and drinking himself to death. I say good riddance.

Well this mean that soon Caroline would be making decisions. I know she have this thing for stick to her friends and all, but even with all her up to sky idea she’s very realistic in someways. She have grow so much since season too, so we may be seeing her leaving too?
