Check Out How 5 Seasons of Zombie Killing Has Changed the Cast of The Walking Dead
It\'s been a grueling road for Rick Grimes and his walker killing group, but despite the odds being heavily stacked against them, they\'re still trudging on in a post-apocalyptic world, doing all they can to survive.
But after five years, that type of lifestyle is sure to take a toll on anyone - take a look at how our favorite stars from Season 1 and 2 look now, and see for yourself:
From smooth-faced Officer Rick, to the hardened man in Season 5, Rick has really taken a journey over the last five years and it\'s written all over his grizzled face. And beard.
Carl has really grown up over the course of the show, from the annoying young kid provoking walkers, to the capable teenage boy, doing his part to protect his family and friends.
One of the biggest transformations of the show has been the badass of the group, Daryl. Back in Season 1 he was mainly out for himself and didn\'t hesitate to start arguments. Skip forward to Season 5 and he has changed completely and taken on a protector role, armed with his trusty bow.
Another huge transformation from Season 1 to Season 5 has been Carol. When we first met Carol she seemed like a character who was likely to be killed off within the first few episodes: an abused, downtrodden wife still caring for her abusive husband, Ed. These days Carol is one of the toughest characters on the show, almost singlehandedly taking down Terminus in the premiere episode of Season 5. After Carol\'s accident at the end of Season 5, I hope she recovers to be an even tougher character.
From the smart-ass taunting Rick over the walkie talkie in episode 2, to a key member of the group, Glenn has gone from just a pizza delivery boy to husband and protector.
Maggie went from Hershel\'s feisty daughter, to one tough cookie. Capable and strong she\'s often the voice of reason (snapping Abraham out of his catatonic state), though the rest of
The Walking Dead Season 5 will be testing, it will be interesting to see Maggie\'s journey after losing both her father and sister.
Dear, sweet Beth, she went from farm girl, to tough independent woman in the course of four seasons. She fought through her demons and came out the other side ready to fight, and ultimately die, for what she believed in.
EDIT: As many of you have pointed out, I didn\'t accurately show Beth in her most up-to-date state. Apologies, here is a more up to date comparison:
