KataraLover picked Naveen:
Naveen:
1.Is captured by Dr. Facilier and turned into a frog
2.Is almost eaten by alligators and has to be saved by Tiana
3.Is captured by frog hunters and has to be saved by Ray
4.After he helps Tiana escape (his one heroic deed) he is almost shot by one of the frog hunters and has to be saved by Tiana
5.Is captured by the shadows and has to be saved by Mama Odie
6.Is captured by the shadows again
7.Is trapped in a box and has to be saved by Ray
8.When he is free from the box is captured again

Princess Pea:
She doesn’t get captured as much as Naveen, but it’s how and who she gets captured by that might make her a bigger dumbass in distress than Naveen. She gets captured by rats! And not human sized rats, but rat sized rats! I’m not even freaking kidding! Okay, to be fair, when she gets captured the rats do have the help of the servant girl that Pea was abusive towards, but they betray the servant girl afterwards and take over the kidnapping of Pea. The rats later take her to their hideout, which apparently no one in the castle has found, especially since they rats are considered criminals, and is tied to the floor. FOR GOODNESS SAKE! THE ROPE WAS TIED BY PINT-SIZED RATS! THEY COULDN’T HAVE POSSIBLY TIED THE KNOTS TIGHT ENOUGH THAT A HUMAN COULDN’T JUST STAND UP AND ESCAPE! I mean, her arms are tied up by the servant girl, but her legs aren’t tied up, so she could easily stand up. And she has to be saved by a mouse and one of the rats (ironically the rat that came up with the idea to capture her). It’s really pathetic that a character would actually get captured by rats!

Oh, for God's sake. What's with your OBSESSION with "damsels/dumbasses in distress" recently?

Movies need to put characters in peril to make the conflict interesting. If it's normal, everyday problems that we all face like passing a test, getting our taxes turned in on time, and remembering dentist checkups so we don't develop cavities, it's not going to be interesting enough to hold people's attention. If the peril is something big, something fantastical, something most of us don't encounter in our day-to-day lives, and something that requires EFFORT or outside help to overcome, it'll be more interesting. The tougher the obstacle, the more rewarding when they overcome it. So if it's something they easily overcome without any help from anyone, it'll also get boring.

Naveen gets himself in peril, but he also gets himself and others out of it occasionally. Yeah, he wasn't bright to shake Facilier's hand, but as he also points out, "He was very charismatic." We've all been talked into buying something we didn't necessarily want or do something we normally wouldn't do because we got taken in by another's forceful personality and/or charm. (And your favorite character is Ariel, so I don't even want to entertain your double-standard condemning Naveen for falling for a witch doctor he had never met before when Ariel fell for a witch she KNEW beforehand was evil and dangerous, and who clearly spelled out the terms of the contract while Naveen's swindler used slang to throw him off!)

Naveen gets in peril occasionally, yes, but he also helps other characters out too. Ray saves him from the frog hunters, and Naveen then saves Tiana. He gets recaptured by Facilier and Lawrence, but manages to stop the wedding AND get the voodoo talisman away from them to stop their plan. (Yeah, he's recaptured afterwards, but that's because his goal was not to get away; his goal was to foil their plans, which he succeeded.)

ALSO: Through most of the film, Naveen's a tiny little frog that gets chased by gators and grabbed by giant humans and supernatural shadows whose hands are bigger than his whole body. Excuse him for not using superhuman (sorry, frog) strength and speed he doesn't have to fend off enemies that can crush him by tightening their grip.

Tygers_Eye What is with your obsession with complaining? Honey you need some help. You complain about pretty much everything.

"THIS CLUB TALKS TOO MUCH ABOUT BEAUTY!"

"I'M GOING TO MAKE SEVERAL POLLS COMPLAINING ABOUT ARIEL!"

"I'M GOING TO MAKE SEVERAL POLLS ABOUT ANIMAL HEROINES AND THEN COMPLAIN IF SOMEONE MAKES POLLS ABOUT A CERTAIN THING!"

"I'M GOING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT PEOPLE SHARING HOW THEIR OPINION HAS CHANGED BECAUSE I CAN!"

You always like to start trouble and frankly I don't care what you have to say about anything. Get off this constant complain kick that you're on and get over yourself.

Tygers_Eye quit complaining about everything! If you don't like the polls people put up don't answer them and put your own up!
