Do آپ think Christianity is a cult?

Jesus Camp =/= all of Christianity.
It doesn't even represent all of Evangelical Christianity.

As to your question... it depends on what آپ mean سے طرف کی 'cult'. The dictionary has five very different definitions, some of which are so broad, they can include Comic-cons.

Notice, that there is nothing about "stealing other religions holidays" (which Wiccans do, among many other religions), یا "my parents don't respect me being an asshole about their beliefs" (which anyone can do).

No christianity is not a cult. Although there are some sects of Christianity that branch off into cults like some conservative mormon, evangelist, and baptist churches it's definitely not what Christianity is about. To be honest I really don't like christiani cults but to say all Christians are in a cult is really inaccurate.

No, I do not believe that Christianity is a "cult". If it were, it would be completely different. Christianity offers a completely original and "customized" understanding of the Bible, unlike Muslims, یا those who believe in the Greek gods.

The thing is, you're making a very huge and offensive assumption, based on ONLY the people آپ have come into contact with, the video آپ saw, and what آپ have grown up around. When آپ insult billions of people around the world, just because they think differently than you, you're asking to get hatemail and rude messages.

I think آپ need to grow up a little. Seems to me that آپ were never taught manners, civil speak, یا social graces. I know this because of the way آپ speak, and the way آپ state things.

1) I don't appreciate people of other faiths (or non-faiths) coming onto a spot for a particular faith just to insult it. This goes for Christians bashing Atheists on their spot and Atheists bashing Christians on the Christianity spot. So watch your mouth when آپ come here. آپ don't walk into someone's house and start insulting the way they've decorated it. That's just rude.

2) I've seen the whole documentary of Jesus Camp. One of my پسندیدہ things about it - and in my mind, one thing that makes it مزید reliable - is the fact that the film maker adds no personal commentary on what is being seen. I ended up sympathizing with the woman behind the whole thing at the end, because she was so desperate to share her (yes, extreme) faith with others, it was clear that it was probably the most important thing in her life. In a way, that made me sad, because she didn't understand how other people viewed her, یا why how she viewed other people was offensive to them. She was oblivious, and yet, she cared so much. Yes, she's crazy - I'll go as far to say that. But she's also human. We all are. Keep that in mind.

3) "Jesus Camp", as bri-marie very brilliantly pointed out, is not representative of all Christianity and all Christians. Anymore than Islamic terrorists are representative of Islam, یا the Ku Klux Klan is representative of Christianity. Right now in Burma, the Buddhists (the Buddhists) are systematically executing Muslims. Yeah, آپ read that right. All religions have their crazies. It doesn't make any of them cults.

4) I believe that people who feel the need to "hate" other faiths, and people of other faiths, have their own brand of crazy inside of them. Not to quote the worst سٹار, ستارہ Wars film ever, but "Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to the dark side." If آپ are a self-described "hater" of Christians, what will happen from there? What will hate breed in you? Look at what hate has bred in the people in Jesus Camp. Hate for pro-choicers. Hate for gays. Look at what hate has bred in suicide bombers. Violence. Disaster. Destruction. Tragedy.

Take a page out of the Christian book (literally) for once. "Be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger." Let go of your anger. Let go of your hate. Learn to forgive and to love people for who they are, and not just judge them for what they believe. I try and see some humanity in everyone. Everyone.

I consider a lot of things people do "cult-like". In some respects I like the idea behind a Jesus camp, some people need it to help them with their walk with God. I don't think Christianity is a cult because lets be honest here, the core rules of Christianity involve loving other, loving yourself, and above all loving God. Nothing really strange about that.

A cult is a relatively small group of people having religious beliefs یا practices regarded سے طرف کی others as strange یا sinister (googled it). While this Jesus camp may seem strange to you, its not all of Christianity, so don't make such a strong generalization.

Is a "cult" nessicarily a "bad" thing? We have gotten a مقبول belief in our minds of what that word means. Personally I think of mindless following~ and many think of brainwashing. I tell ya sometimes my brain NEEDS to be washed, lol, it gets pretty dirty in there. O.O

What if it is something we "like"? Isn't a cult really just any origanized group of people with a set belief یا creed?

This being said

I believe that Christianity (and other several religions too) have a cult-ish mentality. I will say that Christianity (and yes, other religions as well such as Islam and Judaism) are fascist in nature and it seems like آپ have to pick sides. For example...if I follow what God/Christ says...then I am on the right track. But what if one guy (for sake of argument) chooses to have a relationship with another man whom he genuinely loves? That's outside the God's word - he's going to hell!

Wait...what?

I don't need some invisible person to dictate what I can یا cannot do based on the premise of "Don't do what I say یا you're sent in hell".
