O Tempora o Mores
Oh the times, oh the customs

This مضمون is an appeal to all Twilight شائقین out there, I invite آپ all to think over your good and bad actions here on fanpop and contemplate them.

I have seen and compared examples of the appearances of the fandoms Harry Potter and respectively Twilight when criticism appear in each other’s sites on fanpop and I am astounded سے طرف کی the comparatively aggressive tone the Twilight شائقین carried when they respond to the کہا criticism.

Compare the responses of: link

And: link ;

Notes are to be made that both internet addresses were found سے طرف کی searching for “Harry Potter sucks” and “Twilight sucks”. I will let آپ draw your own conclusions while bearing in mind that these results are not representative for either fandom.

I recently came over this: link
while browsing fanpop and was truly shocked and much saddened to find so many aggressive and outright illegal threats being made upon the originator of this question. Why do شائقین of Twilight feel like they have to defend their fandom so ferociously? Why do they impose threats of death and destruction upon people who dislike their fandom? To me this is comparable to religious fanatism who spawns equally hostile threats.

Compare the following partial quotes and quotes, preserved in their original spelling:

“Satan worshipping scum…Please die and go to hell…I hope آپ get a painful disease like rectal cancer and die a slow painful death.” – Cited partially and out of context from “The God Delusion”, pp 243, Richard Dawkins.

“We will not go quietly away. If in the future that requires violence just remember آپ brought it on. My رائفل is loaded.” - Cited out of context from “The God Delusion”, pp 244, Richard Dawkins.

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!! I COULD SHOOT U!!!! GET UR UGLY MEAN OLD SELF AAAAAWWWWWAAAAAAAAAY FROM THIS FANSITE RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWW!!!!” – Cited from link ; the commentary of the question, stephmfan215.

“stephmfan215 Ill help u kill here thats stupid to come on here if u dont like the saga now dont leave any مزید سوالات and GET OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!” – Cited from same ذریعہ as the گزشتہ one, twimenfan.

“u r stupid for being n the twilight پرستار club so get out
I HOPE U ROT IN HELL AFTER ALL OF THEE PEOPLE KILL U AND I ALSO HOPE TAT U GET EATEN BUY NEWBORNS U BUM FACE” - Cited from link ; the commentary of the question, twiliholic17.

Now I would think that the intention of those quotes are mutually inseparable, death and destruction. Agree یا disagree?

Why be so hostile? Twilight fans? In comparison the worst تبصرہ to link is “YOU.NEED.ENGLISH.LESSONS.” - Addicted2TV.
Then isn’t there a great and dishonourable discrepancy in regards of civility when one compares Twilight and Harry Potter fans? At least when آپ look at the لنکس provided?

What does one make of the frequent fallacious arguments made in favour of Twilight? The good looking Edward and Jacob are frequently inferred سے طرف کی شائقین who believe this is a winning argument against criticism. Well, when one thinks through it properly, it’s not a winning argument, it’s fallacious.
What is a fallacious argument? Well, آکسفورڈ English Dictionary Online defines Fallacy as:
noun (plural fallacies)
•    a mistaken belief, especially one based on unsound arguments: the notion that the camera never lies is a fallacy
•    Logic a failure in reasoning which renders an argument invalid
•    [mass noun] faulty reasoning: the potential for fallacy which lies behind the notion of self-esteem
I would like to point out definition two: Logic a failure in reasoning which renders an argument invalid.
Yes, your argument is invalid, not applicable, a failure in reasoning. And as such can be discounted from the discussion.

What is the fallacious part of the argument “Edward is good looking; therefore Twilight is a good book.”? Well, it is an non sequitur fallacy, the statement/conclusion is not supported سے طرف کی the argument; and therefore it is unsound. For who would believe that a statement is valid when it is unsupported سے طرف کی the argument?
سے طرف کی the way: The آکسفورڈ English Dictionary Online defines Non Sequitur as:
•    A conclusion یا statement that does not logically follow from the گزشتہ argument یا statement.

Summa Summarum: Dear Rabid Twilight fans, we are happily tired of being threatened and bothered سے طرف کی your fallacious statements. “Quousque tandem abutere, amici Twilightiae, patientia nostra? For how much more, Twilight fans, will آپ abuse our patience?” Then can we not coexist in civility? Please?
And to the civil Twilight fans, we are very much grateful for your existence and hopefully آپ will continue do the good work, because we mutually know that respect is two-ways.

Dear Ms. Meyer,

Hi. I’m Tria. It’s nice to meet you. As آپ have probably guessed, I am writing to آپ concerning your series known as “The Twilight Saga.” If you’ll forgive me for being rude, I’d like to be blunt.

You fail.

Again, apologies for my rudeness. If you’ll allow me, I’m going to back up this assumption of your literary failure.

Let’s start with the plots, looking at each book individually, and then the کتابیں as a whole.
Twilight: Barely has a plot. The book is 300 یا so pages of nothing happening besides mooning on about Edward and his eyes. Then آپ throw in three...

After reading the post "Bella as a heroine should be illegal" سے طرف کی bendaimmortal, it got me thinking. Obviously, no-one would consider Bella سوان, ہنس a heroine. If آپ do, آپ have got a really great deal of imagination, یا a warped sense of the world. Because, and I'm sure most Twilight شائقین would agree, the girl didn't do anything at all. Save being overly dramatic and being the damsel in distress.

What about the Cullens then? What about Carlisle, Alice, Esme, Jasper, Rosalie and Emmett? What about He-Who-Sparkles-In-Broad-Daylight? Would they be considered heroes/heroines?

No.

I say that the Cullens...

Note: It’s important for me to communicate that I don’t know the مصنف of Twilight یا her family personally and I do not intend them any insult; this مضمون is purely academic speculation inspired سے طرف کی a story which will remain a timeless work of art. It is the emotional accessibility of the work which makes commentary such as this possible. I may be projecting the whole thing… But that’s exactly why Twilight is so successful, because it invites us so welcomingly into the story!

Every پرستار knows the story of the Twilight Saga.
There are many theories as to what makes the story such a pop-culture...

As a پرستار of Twilight, I am part of a lot of related spots and discussions. However, as a Jacob & Bella fan, I often find myself disagreeing with most of the opinions of Twilight fans. In this مضمون I'll go through some تبصرے I've read (slightly altered - don't want anyone out to get me!) and why I disagree with them. It's really just an informal rant. :P

'Edward & Bella have things in common unlike Jacob & Bella'

... What exactly? Let me guess: Classical music? Bella knows one song and suddenly they have something in common. They both read? When do we actually read of Bella reading...

Soo, I read Twilight in 2005 and seriously thought it was the best thing I'd ever read, and never thought I'd read anything better. How young and stupidly naive I was!

When I first bought it, it was treasured, as were New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn & all the money wasting merchandise I purchased to. But over the past 2 years, I've seen the پرستار base grow and grow and GROW into something that is just pretty hectic and down right ridiculous.

I personally feel sorry for the cast, especially Robert Pattinson. Poor guy, can't even walk out his front door without being mobbed. There's such thing...

As someone who liked vampires before the fad started I'm one of the many people who dislikes the Twilight vampires. And thinks they should be reclassified as pixies. یا that at least Zombie Bram Stoker should go have a serious talk with Stephenie Meyer about vampires... What do آپ mean Bram Stoker hasn't risen as a zombie in protest to the Twilight vampires? Why don't آپ go prove it? I'll wait...

...

...They didn't come back, so I'm assuming Zombie Bram ate their brains. We'll have to carry on without them. Anyway, I must admit Meyerpires are an interpretation of the vampire myth I just don't...

Disclaimer: The عنوان of the مضمون may seem to be a bit strange, as most of my مضامین that I have گیا کیا پوسٹ on here are usually issues I have with the Twilight Saga, but I decided that myself as an anti, wanted to write about things I actually do like about the series. Guarantee, I actually do think Stephanie Meyer did create some characters in this series, and I just wanted to فہرست my سب, سب سے اوپر 8. This will be in no particular order.

How many Twilighters does it take to screw on a light bulb?
I don't know, they're all too busy fighting over who gets to be Mrs Cullen

What happened when Emmett Cullen stubbed his toe?
He made the whole city collapse!

Rosalie Hale was told to find something just as یا مزید beautiful then herself. She came back with a mirror!

How do آپ stop Jacob Black from attacking you?
You pick up a stick, throw it and yell "fetch"!

How do آپ irritate Edward Cullen?
Buy him a dog and call it Jacob!

I’ve read many lists pointing out Twilight “Plot Holes”, but مزید often than not, the lists aren’t very valid at all. Half of them are usually just complaints, pointing out something they don’t like about Twilight (Example:” Why would vampires go to high school?”, یا “Why does Bella have so many friends?”). The rest are just factually incorrect, یا can be logically theorized. These are usually followed سے طرف کی “Stephenie Meyer obviously ditched history class”, یا “Hasn’t Stephenie ever heard of logic?”, یا my personal favorite, “I would know, I had a lesson about it...

aagh! I accidentally deleted this when I was trying to ترمیم it. here it is again with a new title:

Bella could have gotten over Edward in New Moon and even had a real relationship with Jacob in time, but she wouldn't let herself. She felt that moving on would diminish یا discredit her twu wuv with Edward and the pain she felt after he left. She wants to believe she can't get over it because she wants to believe that what they had was extraordinary, not like any other teenage romance. She wants to believe no one else in the world can relate to what she's going through. She was alone because she...

*Most I made up, a few I admit I saw on a video but I stated these ways in my own words so it is therefore not plagiarism*

1) Tell a fangirl that you'll send her a T-shirt with rare pictures of Edward Cullen on the front and back in two days, make sure she gets extremely excited. When the two days go by, send her a T-shirt with pics of Hagrid from Harry Potter instead.

2) Tell the fangirls that all gay men sparkle.
3) Tell the fangirls that the Quielete werewolves have major anger management issues if they turn into beasts when they got irritable...
