Damon & Elena Article: It´s right, just not right now…

I read SEers arguments why SE are the IT couple یا endgame and have to say they are very weak. First would be: “ND and PW are the lead actors on TVD” First of all, where was it ever کہا that they are leads? There can be three leads on TVD. How can anyone deny that Ian is a lead actor? That is why the درخت of them always promotes the show. Not just ND and PW, but IS as well. Just because PW name come first doesn´t make him مزید of a lead then Ian. That doesn´t make SE مزید important then Damon. Same person who claims that ND and PW are the main leads playing main characters mention that the دکھائیں is about Damon, Elena, Stefan just prove that it´s not about DE… آپ can´t have it both ways… The the famous: “It will always be Stefan.” Elena کہا it back then in S2, since then everything changed. If Elena saw Stefan as her always, she never would even think to have a family in the future. When she کہا it, she didn´t realized the meaning of ALWAYS- which mostly young people often do. Even in one of JPs interwievs she talked how Elena have now to think what the word ALWAYS means, Elena has still to learn. Ever since S2 we never heard from Elena Stefan being her always. It´s Damon who mentions it two times. In Season two finale she doesn´t say anything, and in season three she goes even further and says she can´t think about always. It can´t be intepreted differently then that Elena isn´t sure Stefan is her always anymore. Not when JP repeated after the finale over and over again, that the choice she made was for right now, that she made it as someone who she is right now. Then Damons famous: “It´s right, just not right now.” They repeat it over and over again- that just can´t be ignored. Then I read that “This kind of love never dies.” could have been written just for the it couple. Now explain how the line: “I don´t know what love is.” could be written for the supposed epic couple of the show? This line can´t be ignored. When Elena کہا it, it was like saying that Elena has to learn what love is. Also when Elena talks about Stefan she says: “What love SHOULD be…” this is not the kind of line that is used for the main couple. And please don´t come up with old lines from Elena about/to Damon. Cause their story get develop through the series, Elena falling in love with Damon slowly, while SE already know they love each other and were together. Then I read the line: “SE are the true love story of the show.” کہا سے طرف کی JP. First of all, this line is not complete. Julie کہا SE are the love story NOW. See that little but important word NOW? After saying that she mentioned that they can´t leave out Damon. This word NOW seem to come back over and over again, right ;) At the end of Season three JP couldn´t stop talking how it was like the end of the series. That was the end of chapter one. Yep the part where SE were the true love story of the دکھائیں is finished, and they finished it in a very symbolic way. SE lovestory did began when Stefan saved Elena from the car accident, at the end of S3 we have exactly the same situation again, just now Stefan saves Matt instead of Elena. Elena died. It was like the end of their story. “This kind of love never died.” did die when human Elena died. Now while Elena was dying we saw the DE first meeting flashback, which showed us the new beginning of the new series/new chapter. It showed us DE as the beginning of the beginning. آپ can´t use old quote from JP about SE being true love story anymore, آپ won´t see JP saying it again, cause this chapter is now finished. All آپ see in all of JPs lates interwievs is that she says over and over again that it wasn´t THE choice, that trinagle is not over yet, that everything changed, it´s not the same دکھائیں anymore- nothing about Stefan being Elenas always, nothing about SE being the true lovestory…

Mareek94 OMG this scared me alittle cause just today i read what julia plec said about SE being the true epic love story of the show and i got sooooooo depressed that i couldnt take it none of them said the she completed it by now and i just LOVE the way you put it in the end I mean seriously for me if elena fallen in love with damon at s01 when he was bad and all killing stuff i wouldnt be convinced cause what i like about them THE MOST is that its not silly i mean damon didnt run after her just because she looks like katherine at first he didnt care about her and then when he got to know her then he started falling and when he changed and stoped killing then she started feeling sth for him "Beginning of the beginning" Just love it Amazing Grrrrrrrreat work youve just made my day just looooooove it xD

JanaP Mareek94: I am happy I could make your day bettter. I just see many SEers and even DEers bring up this quote over and over again, but the context of that quote is missed. People just don´t put the whole quote, or just ignore/not notice the word NOW... And sorry for my bad English!

clairmxxx Love it, everything you say is perfect :) Stefan might have been her always but that was when she was human, always has died now and turned into never again lol besides as you say always was turning to right now and dieing very fast :D Damon is her Eternity, which is what she has now because shes going to be a vampire and she no longer has always to think about, its Eternity ;)

JanaP RealismHurts You know the least think I care is about what JP says. It´s what written in the show what matters and they hinted again and again that SE are the right now... SEers are the ones who bring up JPs OLD quotes, which are mostly out of the context. But since they say that she is the writer and what she says matters more then what we see on the show I remind them of all the other Julie said and pointed out to watch the context of the quotes...

delenasalvatore @JanaP, Well done! Really enjoyed reading it! I have also heard some stupid arguments for SE being the 'It Couple' or endgame of the show. I mean, because the cast are listed as 'Nina, Paul, Ian', they conclude that Ian is of less importance than Nina and Paul, which signifies that SE are more important than DE? Could they be any more ridiculous? "It's always gonna be Stefan" - oh man. If any quote has been blown out of proportion, it might be this one. Elena never wanted to be a vampire, and she obviously wanted to reach all the human milestones of an ordinary, happy human life: growing up, college, marriage, children, etc. I don't like comparing TVD to Twilight, but I think in this case, I can make an exception, in that Bella always knows she wants to be with Edward, and if it means giving up her mortality and never having children, then it's fine to her, because all she wants is to be with him. You can't say the same about Elena. I personally think that when Elena said that, it was in the spur of the moment, and because she didn't want to have to acknowledge that there WAS something going on between her and Damon. Using Stefan as a security net between her and Damon was ideal at that time. I have been thinking about the parallels between how SE's paths crossed for the first time and the car accident in 3x22 a lot. I never realised it at the time of the episode, but could it be that the accident in 3x22 in which Elena tragically dies is also symbolic of the death of SE as a couple?? The more I think about that, the more I'm inclined to believe that SE's story has come full circle. It begins with Stefan saving Elena's life, and it ends with him doing what she asks and letting her die, and her becoming a vampire and it heralds the beginning of a new chapter, in which she remembers that she met Damon first and his confession of love to her etc. I have never come across a reason for SE being the It Couple or true love story/endgame that wasn't completely superficial. Just: "They met first" and "They're meant to be" and "Elena said she'll always choose Stefan". Basically, their reasons for an SE endgame are about as 'epic' as SE are supposed to be! SE as a romance are very weak, and that definitely shows up when people try to justify why they should be together.

JanaP delenasalvatore: Thanks alot! I really believe that is what they wanted to show us when the paralleled the two accidents. JP always talked about how when he saved Elena, that is when their love story did began, and they paralleled it when he saved Matt. In the same episode they showed us DE meeting each other for the first time. It was like the end of one love story and the beginning of the another.

amshafe I agree with your article, well said. A lot of SE fans completely missed the point of the finale (and some DE fans for that matter). Some people on both sides were so hung up on the fact that Elena chose Stefan that they ignored everything else that happened in the finale. Funny how the whole choice was made about Delena even though Elena chose Stefan. We didn't even get an I choose you scene with SE, or a reaction to knowing Elena was dying/dead. Damon got the reaction. You don't give the reaction to the death of the heroine to a guy that isn't the true love interest. You just don't. That's not how a love story works. And yes, the parallels to the start of SE's story and the end were pretty blatant. That's why they had to have Elena choose Stefan. They needed to distract people from those parallels because they need to keep the triangle going. I'm happy Elena chose Stefan. This is a good thing. If Elena had chosen Damon they could have just gotten DE over with. Now it's become clear DE is being take seriously and the roads lead to them, which my gut instinct always told me was the case. Another SE argument I love is: "Klaus and Caroline both ship SE, so see, SE is the epic love story of the show". LMAO. Yes, because 18 year old Caroline is supposed to know everything. She herself thought Matt was her epic love and was infatuated with him for the longest but turned out to be very, very wrong. And Klaus was just always trying to turn Stefan and Damon against each other with his comments, but apparently that's too difficult for some people to understand. SE fans make the mistake of acting like if a character says something it must be the writers' opinion, which is so wrong it's tragic. You have to consider the character saying it and their motivations. And we know Caroline has a bias against Damon because of the way he treated her (which I understand, I'm not slamming her). She'll come around eventually. It's kind of funny, because Tyler was a complete dick in S1 but he changed and fell in love with Caroline, and same with Damon and Elena. If she would open her eyes she would see how similar the two situations are.

Stefan looked at the floor guiltily.
“Go on Stefan, explain yourself,” Damon pressed. Stefan looked up at him angrily.
“You already know everything.” He looked back at me. “Elena, I’m so sorry I left you. I asked Damon to tell آپ everything and maybe if he had…” he glared up at Damon with a rage that petrified me. “Maybe if he had told آپ then I wouldn’t be here explaining myself, I wouldn’t have walked in on آپ two upstairs, and possibly we’d still be together…” I knew he was right. If Damon had told me that Stefan had کہا he loved me and he was sorry about whatever...
