I don't know about his mom, but apparently Eric's dad IS dead! It says it in this clip from The Little Mermaid on Broadway. Skip to 1:50 and only keep going until 2:00, یا else it'll be ruined for آپ because that's the ending.

And here I thought Eric's dad just didn't دکھائیں up in the movie.

Yeah, I knew about how the play stroyline was considered for the real one. And i know it was hinted at in the movie, but this comfirmed it (I try not to assume things when it comes to Disney).

Yeah can never tell.- I mean I think when I was little I thought when Bambis mom کہا his dad is " The Great Prince" it was only implied, but we see a brief shot of him in the movie.
