Uh, I'm dumb, so can someone explain what this question means?

"Emotionally static" is a term I've seen used a couple of times to refer to characters whose experiences don't affect them emotionally as much as they should - basically, a character whose emotions/reactions are inorganic. One could say that Snow White brushing it off "with a smile and a song" after experiencing a murder attempt is being emotinally static.

I'm really conflicted about this, so I'm hoping the insights of fellow fans will shone some light on my head.

Snow White goes through an array of emotions: she's cheery, optimistic, frightened, mournful, sad, hopeful, skeptical, angry, and caring. Her character, however, is static since she doesn't grow and remains essentially the same person.

Silverrose: I've never heard of that term before, where did you learn of it? I tried looking online but nothing useful has popped up.

^^^Thank you, Gus. I think she reacted to the situation realistically (being overwhelmed by her fear and maybe shock) but she does pick herself up rather quickly...I'm not too sure.

Digoenes - Well, it's a weird story. I started reading a Percy Jackson's "fanfiction" called "A Guide for Writing PJO fanfiction", for some reason I do not remember, since I don't even like the series that much. And in one of the chapters, the author talked about "emotionally statics" characters. Google the title up followed by the expression and you'll find it.

More so than the rest, but then I don't really think that's a bad thing. Mostly she's just emotional strong and positive, she goes through lots of actual emotions, she just doesn't let them effect her in a negative way.

Ok, if it's from fan fiction then I doubt it has a lot of psychological veracity. I was looking up things like "flat affect," and "emotional disorders" and none of them matched Snow White. It's kind of hard to psychologize a character who is in a fairy tale since fairy tales don't always use logic or rationality. Snow White's reactions or (un-reactions) may seem odd to us since we expect more realism and believability in our stories but this is based on an old German legend so let's try not to put Snow White on the psychiatrist's couch.
