If a sequel was ever to occur...

For the record I prefer Merida single (despite being a little fond of Meri/young macguffin in fanfic-land, but that's it), but it seems shipping her is something very popular to do (Jarida and Merricup are ULTRA popular), so it seems there are folks out there that do want her to fall in love, so that's why i added that option.

Unless it delivered on the mystical, mysterious Scottish setting and the big epic adventure to save the kingdom where Merida's bravery and archery save the day like the trailers PROMISED for the first movie, I don't want a sequel.

Yeah, I don't particularly think this movie needs a sequel.

@Tygers_Eye Than you're gonna love the one of my entries in the Fan-Made Disney Sequel Contest, Brave 2. I hope that I 'll be able to make a sequel to Brave and this is the story I want it to be.

Love the way it ended, so I don't really want a sequel lol.

I would love to see how the lessons Merida learned translate to her being a queen. Especially if we get to see the way she treats her own daughter

They did the same thing with Pirates of the Caribbean! It's fine the way it is. No need to add more to the already great story. Most people would want a sequel since it wasn't as great as they aspected it to be, but if it already has a bunch of things in its world, I wouldn't bother adding more to "continue an adventure". They wrapped it up nicely and the people that like it-- the people that also support the franchise, don't actually want one. So if the FANS don't want one, I wouldn't suggest making one. But since most people were somewhat disappointed they'll listen to those people thinking they can rake in more cash, but really they MIGHT ruin it for the old fans and the people that don't like won't waste their money on something they didn't like. And out of the fans maybe only half of them will like it. Point is: I don't think they should make one, they'd barely make any money off of it if it's bad, and will make still only a couple million if it's good. WHY BOTHER? Unless I feel like more could happen and there is more this life story you really shouldn't make a sequel. Kung Fu Panda was a sequel movie-- this person would obviously continue to have maybe a more interesting life and some things were still left secret. Brave? No. Brave was wrapped up in a neat little bow for a reason. Their story of change and excitement is over! What could happen in the sequel? Getting married? So-- that's just life, no story there. So then they'll probably add some adventure, with some other legend, with some other thing and it'd be a mess. If certain things aren't common in a persons life because they've solved the problem, then you need new things and new things are often thrown in like "Oh yeah, this is also this OTHER thing, maybe more changing needs to happen" when no new things need to happen! If it doesn't further develop an understanding of the movie, it shouldn't be made!

Actually I think instead of possibly ruining the Brave franchise, they should focus on a live action Mulan! There's your "badass" female protagonist and romance...


Yeah, I really don't want a sequel and I think bringing up sequels in general gets me worried, mainly for the franchise.

I think it would be neat if they had a war with neighboring clans, sort of how Brave's backstory gave rise to King Fergus. Maybe these new clans don't want Fergus as their king for whatever reason and it is up to Merida (in process of becoming a queen) to find peace and restore balance. I would also like more emphasis on Scottish mythology, maybe Merida can stumble upon the Fair Folk (and they would come straight from Celtic lore not cutsey modern fairies or Tolkienesque elves, but honest-to-god ancient nature spirits), who aren't too pleased with how the humans are encroaching on their territory.

I think I saw a wallpost earlier saying there WILL be one, but then again, I'm not so sure.

mhs1025: I don't think they'll be making a sequel any time soon. They already have the Good Dinosaur, Inside Out, and Finding Dory coming out with The Incredibles 2, Cars 3 and Toy Story 4 in the works. That's 6 films, 4 of them are sequels. The director of Brave wants to make one but only if they have the right story, after all the policy at Pixar is to never make sequels unless there are artistic reasons to do so. So if they are planning one (and I checked the official sources and nothing is coming up beyond speculation from 2 years ago) then they haven't announced it yet.
