This is a picture I've been meaning to do for a while but hadn't gotten around to because I couldn't decide what tale color to give Merrick, my fan-made son of Ariel and Eric and little brother of Melody. I didn't want him to have a color that so many others had. My good friend, Keeloves from Deviantart and Tumblr, suggested making his tale the shade of purple his mother's shell bra is. I thought it was a great idea because in his human form, I had his shirt be the same color as his mother's tail. As you can tell, he favors his mother in the looks department, just like how Melody favors her father in the looks department. However, he has his father's light blue eyes and his personality is more like his father, just like how Melody has her mother's eyes and personality (Except for being a lot more insecure, socially awkward, and introverted). There's a saying that girls tend to look more like their fathers and boys tend to look more like their mothers, which is certainly the case with me and my sister.

For Merrick's face, I used a combination of Taran from The Black Cauldron and a genderbent Ariel, though he has his father's smile (Literally because I used that in my editing lol). I wanted him to, like his sister, look like a perfect combination of both of his parents but favors one parent a little more in the looks department. If you want more information on him, I posted about his personality in a picture I did of him and his big sister together.

With Eric, yes, I know that a lot of merpeople have blue tails, but I changed it up to make it darker, kind of like the blue suit he wore when he was announcing his engagement to "Vanessa." I guess that James, one of the OC's I created, has a similar shade of blue, but Eric's is a more vibrant and bright shade of it. Also, much like how I gave Ariel an older, more mature, and parental look, I did the same with Eric in this picture. I used Dave Seville from the Alvin and the Chipmunks franchise, specifically the one from The Chipmunk Adventure (Which is the best product from that franchise), who looks A LOT like Eric, except older looking. I actually used Dave's face for an older Eric in another picture I posted on here.

These two are very close and in my remake of the sequel, The Little Mermaid 2: Return to the Sea, I plan on having Triton give Ariel, Eric, Melody, and Merrick the magical ability to change from human to merpeople whenever they want.
