After Hanna died my life went into a tailspin. I lost my focus on the war. I no longer felt a thrill یا a longing to be on the battlefeild. Life had lost meaning. I fought blindly in every battle. I didn't care whether I was killed یا not. That was my downfall. One battle in particular was extra hard and an uphill climb, facing our enemy. If آپ remember, there had been tension between Captain Blowhole and my father. Now that General Fahlcon was out of the way, / posed as a threat to Blowhole's superior title. I was a sitting بتھ, مرغابی in my condition. The heat of the battlefeild wore down on me that day. I struggled to push myself up the steep climb, not caring about the bullets that rocketed past me, some just inches from my head. I shot some firepower of my own on occasion and pushed on. Suddenly the screeching whistle of a rocket sounded overhead. Nearly everyone grabbed some realestate. Some didn't know what was going on. I did, though I remain upright. I heard it hit rather close behind me and a felt shards of dirt and steel hit me as they whizzed by. I looked over my shoulder, there my gaze froze. Leeland was lying against the edge of the pit the rocket had made. He was crimson with blood, and he wasn't moving. In a blind scramble, I darted towards the only 'father' I'd ever known. I put a flipper on his chest, feeling a weak pulse beneath my flipper tip. He was alive. I stood up from where I had knelt beside him, "Hand in there Leeland. I'll try to find help." I thought. Suddenly a heard a loud crack of a رائفل and something stung me behind the shoulder blade. I reached around behind me and felt a sticky liquid on my flipper. With a sudden blast of horror I realized I'd been shot. My vision wavered, wafting in and out of focus. My pulse drummed in my head. I felt myself slipping into unconciousness. I realized in my subconciousness that I was falling down, down into the pit below me. I felt the hard earth slam into my back, then darkness hit me black in the face.
