Hmm. I don't agree with them at all. lol

First off, of course some of the scenes have already been used in movies before. Movies have been around for over 50 years now. To have a 100% original movie is nearly impossible.

Secondly, who cares if it had a "fairytale ending." That's what this movie is: a fairytale. It obviously couldn't happen in real life, but that's why the movie is so enjoyable. It raises your spirits because you're rooting for Jamal all along, and when he finally gets the money and the girl, you feel happy. You feel genuinely happy.

Lastly, homelessness and starvation and poverty is RAMPANT in India. Sure there are some parts that are middle-class, but what good would it do for the plotline to show that? Nothing at all! This movie focuses on the poverty stricken parts. I in no way thought that Danny Boyle was being predjuice with this movie. How can it be called prejudice when it's true. He basically showed what life is really like in the slums and how bad India can be when they have religious wars (which resulted in Jamal and Salim's mother's death). IMO, the movie stayed very close to the truth and showed the problems that are currently happening in India, that most of the rest of the world has no clue about.

This guy can have his own opinions, but that doesn't mean I have to agree with them. lol. And I know you weren't trying to be offensive sapherequeen :) You obviously wouldn't be on this spot if you didn't like SM.
