As Starz’s adaptation of the hit Neil Gaiman novel gears up for a buzzy Comic-Con panel on Friday, the series’ latest poster offers plenty to unpack. Against a backdrop of stars and stripes, a buffalo skull is adorned with images of cultural symbols both old (an illuminati eye is prominently surrounded by feathers) and new (fast food, phones, and video games encircle the eye).

, now in the hands of showrunners Bryan Fuller and Michael Green, which follows the mysterious Shadow Moon (Ricky Whittle) as he’s pulled into a conflict between old and new deities. Shadow regularly encounters a buffalo-headed man, a representation of the American land, in his dreams.
