Mirandel Aithusa confuses me, as well. The other thing that confused me, was how the hell did Morgana escape(she didn't have her powers, remember)?? Do these 2 things have a connection? Did Merlin make her disappear? Or was it Aithusa? Did Merlin summon the dragon? We don't know. That's why I hate it more than anything that we have to wait another year for the answers. We were told that an evil character would come back. But Aithusa evil? We can't tell yet. We've seen her in 2 episodes. In the first one she was a newborn dragon who was destined to help Merlin and Arthur to unite the lands of Albion. In the second one, she's reviving Morgana, Merlin and Arthur's biggest enemy, back to life. Very confusing... The creepy-lady-in-the-caves in 4x09, said that Morgana's destined to bring back the old ways. Maybe that's what is going to happen in series 5? And Aithusa will help?

EPaws Actually the white dragon is the enemy of the Pendragons whose symbology is red. As you can see Aithusa, that little albino turncoat, has begun his work early. That was the second mistake Merls made hatching it before its time. The first is the ultimate betrayal of trust with Arthur by never once revealing in the past 4 years, just who he is, Emrys. Basically Arthur, all with the best of intentions is being made a fool of. This will not sit well.

aidablue8 remeber what Kilgarah said? "A white dragon is indeed a rare thing and fitting. For in the dragon tongue you named him after the light of the sun. No dragon birth is without meaning. The white dragon bodes well for Albion, for you and Arthur and for the land you will build together." maybe Aithusa will be able to bring Morgana back on the right path. In the legends Morgana isn't depicted only as evil but as the one that will bring arthur back to life. She is the queen of Avalon, magic realm in which Arthur is taken by her after he is mortaly wounded by Mordred, or so I recall. Please correct me if I'm wrong. of course there are many versions of the legend and it is true that BBC's merlin really likes playing and twisting them thus giving us a fresh, more up to date story but I guess they will take into consideration this part of the legends which to me is really important. What do you think?

LadyKnighton Okay I don't think Aithusa will go bad. I agree with aidablue8 the Dragon said Aithusa will bode well for Camelot.

Gatita92 To my mind there are two possible solutions for this: First: Aithusa finally leads Morgana back on the right path/becomes one of 'the good ones'. The argument in favour of that suggestion is that Kilgarrah foretold Aithusa as a 'bold light' for Albion and the future that Merlin and Arthur are supposed to bring. Second: Aithusa becomes an ally of Morgana and Mordred and therefore turns out to be an enemy of Camelot. Argument is here that Merlin made Aithusa hatch although he was not meant to do that, at least not at that time. It was the same when Merlin decided not to have the young Mordred killed even though Kilgarrah warned him that Mordred will become a great threat to Arthur. I think the authors made it rather clear that Aithusa will obtain a major role in Season 5 so these are the most probable outcomes in my opinion. I have thought about another solution recently...maybe Aithusa only saved Morgana for the reason that they are kin. This should not be forgotten ;)

SnizzleStick My opinion/thought. aithusa was just born, to me, something just born isnt evil and has no knowledge of wrong and right. tbh i think the dragon in his point of view saw a helpless woman laying there about to die, not knowing what he was doin and tried to be good and heal rather than to let her die. also, even if aithusa goes bad which i doubt, but is possible. theres only 1 dragon lord left, remember that episode where Arthur commanded Kilgarrah to do something he TRULY didn't want to do. and he had to do it anyways? HENCE dragon lord. so my point is 2 things about aithusa 1 didnt kno tried to be kind and help someone dieing not knowing how evil they were. 2 is evil did know what he was doin but, has to listen to the dragon lord when the time comes. i believe my first answer to that question should be right, the dragon didnt have an evil look he had a poor woman dead on the ground ima heal her. as would anyone else who could help someone they dont kno laying on the ground poor and helpless goin to die. p.s. i also agree with the ones above about helping morgana become good, maybe if aithusa did kno, maybe thats a reason, you know how Kilgarrah knew peoples futures or "destiny" maybe this dragon knew and help morgana get on the right path. thats a possibility.

mitcn012 NEWSFLASH! Aithusa is a girl!! I was watching and interview with Katie McGrath and Colin Morgan and they both kept on referring to Aithusa as a SHE.
