Chapter 2
Booth was going over some basic training technics with his squad. He had been assigned a special team of army rangers to help locate and destroy Al Queda cells. When he had first met his team he realized that مزید than half of the men were in their early 20s and he felt like an old man but as he had much مزید strength and stamina he soon had them running to keep up with him. A number of the team soon learned that he was a former FBI agent and as usual with Booth he and his team became friends. Another ranger named Richard 'Rick' Sinclair asked. "So Sarge anyone else."
Booth: "Well my partner and I are going to get together the first دن I get back."
Rick: "What's your partner's name?"
Booth: "Dr. Temperance Brennan, she also worked for the Jeffersonian. Anyway I think we need to get back into the field for مزید training."
That night in the barracks Scooter and Rick were talking about how they missed back ہوم and their families when they started to think about Sgt. Booth and Dr. Brennan. A couple of the other men entered into the general banter.

Scooter: "You know if he did she is probably an old woman."
Jimmy Russell: "Why do آپ think she is an old woman?"
Scooter: "Well look how old the Sarge is."
Dave Pearson: "He's not that old, but what if he has a 'partner'?"
Rick: "What do آپ mean?"
Dave: "You know" making with a limp wrist
Randy Garcia "No way, one he has a son and I'll bet he has someone special but he doesn't want any آپ jerks getting ideas."
Timothy Wright: "i know how to find out. I'm going on line and google this Dr. Brennan."
With that the group headed over to the recreation room to use one of the computers. They all tried to look over Timothy's shoulder as he typed in 'Temperance Brennan'. Within سیکنڈ the screen was filled with referances. To her academics, her discoveries, her research, and her accomplishments as a noted author. But what really struck them was her picture.
Scooter: "Wow"
Dave: "That's Sgt. Booth's partner."
Jimmy: "No way."
Timothy: "Look آپ idiot. it says that her murder mysteries are believed to be based on her actual work with Special Agent Seeley Booth of the FBI."
Randy. "Hey آپ know Pete has a bunch of murder mysteries that he has read maybe he has one of her books. Lets go ask."
Back at the barracks, they all caught up with Pete and asked about any کتابیں سے طرف کی a Dr. Temperance Brennan. It turned out that he had three of them with him. Scooter told Pete about Sgt. Booth and Dr. Brennan.
Pete: "Then that explains the dedication in her book. I thought the name of Seeley Booth looked familiar."

Pete: "You guys read for yourselves but wait until آپ read page 187 of her last book and then آپ tell me"

Booth had no idea this was happening as he was planning training exercises for the coming weeks to better prepare the squad. It wasn't until after the seventh week when Scooter came back from mail call with a bundle of letters for Booth. The name of the sender was Dr. Brennan. When he handed the bundle to Booth he noted that the Sarge looked a little shocked and then pleased. Booth dismissed the squad early that دن and headed back to his room which was separate from the main barrack. Inside the barrack everyone was glad that the دن ended early but not until Scooter told them about the letters did anyone know why the دن ended early. That night they all کہا thank آپ to Dr. Brennan.
Booth in his room looked at the letters and could not believe that Bones had written to him. He opened up the first one and started to read what she wrote. It was like she was in the room with him talking to him about her day. He could read in some of her letters where she had سوالات but no one to ask. In others he could feel her frustration with some of the other people and especially with Daisy. He knew she needed some support but would never ask for it. He wrote her back that very night to let her know he was there with her even if they were half a world apart. He wanted to tell her how much he missed her but knew she needed his strength right now. So he told her about what he was doing and his squad. He did not tell her about the numerous ambushes that they have encountered and the random attacks because that would only cause her to worry. Through the coming weeks and well into the fourth ماہ the letters flowed back and forth. It seemed for everytime he wrote her a letter she had time to write him two یا three but then again she was محفوظ in her tent everynight while he was out doing night exercises. It was not until the letter came from Bones which کہا 'Booth it has been a rough day. It was in the fifth ماہ that there was serious concern in the camp in Afganistan. The entire squad was on alert, waiting and watching. Not being able to do anything about what was happening but they could only offer support. The news had come early that morning. It had been an earthquake in one of the remote islands of Indonesia that had triggered the volcano. This آتش فشاں had been dormant for over two centuries and now it was foaming at the سب, سب سے اوپر with molten lava and bellowing dark plumbs of ash into the sky above. The squad knew that Dr. Brennan their sarge;s partner was on one of those islands and they were all waiting to find out if she was save. Booth had been hovering around the communications room trying to contact anyone at the FBI یا the Jeffersonian to find out if Bones was safe. The دن seemed to stand still all they saw were satillite تصاویر of the آتش فشاں and film of its distruction. At around six that evening one of the communicatons technicians informed Booth that he had made contact with Dr. Saroyan at the Jeffersonian where it was still morning. He told Booth to go to one of the computers in the room to talk to Cam.
Booth waited for the feed wishing he could be alone but knowing that everyone in his squad wanted to be there for him. As the screen started to light up he saw Cam looking like she also had been up all night.
Booth: "Cam what have آپ heard?'
Cam: "Well the آتش فشاں was near where Dr. Brennan is located."
Booth: "Cam I need to know is she safe?"
Cam: "Booth, I'm trying to find out................"
At that moment Cam was interrupted سے طرف کی something coming in on another computer on her desk. She was looking at the screen and then she turned back to Booth and said. "It's Dr. Brennan, Booth....................
